❕NEWS Former Coinbase CTO predicts Bitcoin to hit $1M by June in $1M bet

Former Coinbase CTO Balaji Srinivasan has made a $1 million bet via Twitter that Bitcoin will reach $1 million by June 17 due to a rapid devaluation of the US dollar, sparking debates on Twitter about the feasibility of his prediction. Srinivasan believes that the global economy is on the cusp of change, leading to "hyperbitcoinization" and the redenomination of the global economy on Bitcoin as digital gold. His bold bet has generated renewed excitement and hope in the crypto market after a tough 2022, a time when prices plummeted and numerous crypto firms collapsed.

Well if we're are to analyze this critically, the possibility of Bitcoin increasing in value is there. With the ongoing issue affecting the USD and Fiat currencies, it's expected that crypto will be the new safehouse. If that should occur, Bitcoin will be the first beneficiary sending it to some highs. However, 1 million dollars? I doubt.

The man must actually be joking, no wonder, he only said June 17th without stating categorically whether it is this year or other year. I just believe that Bitcoin may truly goes higher but not more than 40k. He may want people to start buying Bitcoin and do this like a whaler way.

That is right he wants to create a buying Frenzy but then he has to ensure people that bitcoin is the first and only thing that can save them and if the people are interested they will surely buy from it actually .

I am only worried on why someone who placed so much as a bet on something that we all know it is not predictable. It must have a reason. He surely knows that this may not be possible as the target that he chose is just too unrealistic, to me, he wants to trap many into rush buying.

He has just issued a statement like elon musk but elon musk has atleast some sort of power to push the market up with his influence but these people are just like jokers at their very best with their words indeed actually .

Bitcoin has great potential but I fear that it is now being controlled by sentiment, fear, sponsored fake news to pump the coin, etc and these factors are not the ones that should nlbe driving a real asset but a bubble,a ponzi or a pump and dump schematic

Hahaha. You're very correct. Though his analysis is right except the 1 million dollars value. It's expected that with the USD crash, people and institutions will move their money into crypto. There's still much trillions of dollars not in crypto which are expected to come in.

The era of the emergence of Central Backed Digital Currencies(CBDCs) is looming with the nearing of the USD crash and its dumping by the world as the global reserve currency
CBDCs will be the last ditch effort by governments(esp the US) to try and save the financial system from completely going decentralised thanks to crypto

Now in July comes the pilot project by the FED of digital currency called "Fednow", I think that by that time something bad will happen to the cryptographic market again, since they want to pave the way as much as possible for when the currencies of the central banks arrive, hence the strong regulation of the US against cryptos.
