What Is Fiverr?

Fiverr is a pioneering freelance market place where people who have any skill they think they can market can go and market their skills waiting for the right employer to pick them. By the way, freelance means working for someone based on contract and being free to work for anyone you like, any time you want.

Fiverr came into the freelancing world, around 2010 and introduced a freelancing style where you offer to do anything for anyone just for 5 bucks. However, since then it has advanced that freelancers are setting the prices way above 5 bucks.

Here is an example of a logo design page on Fiverr

A typical Fiverr advert goes like this "I will design an outstanding logo for you in 24 hours starting at $5". Another one "I will design a creative logo for you in 4 hours".

What You can Do On Fiverr
Logo Design is not the only thing you can do for people to earn money on Fiverr. There are many more of them.

Fiverr has lots of categories such as Graphic Design (logo design falls here), Digital Marketing, Writing And Translation, Video And Animation, Music And Audio, Programming And Tech, Business and Lifestyle.

Each of these categories have lots of sub categories on them. Here is an example of Graphic Design category sub categories.

Should You Start Working On Fiverr Today?
Yes! Absolutely! If you want to earn money online, there is no reason you shouldn't start working on fiverr today. There's no limit to what you can do. There are skills on all levels needed by employers on fiverr and they pay for it.

Some freelancers even get paid to sing a birthday song on Fiverr. Some get paid to record a video of them dancing to a song. Anything you know how to do, you can find an opportunity to earn money with that on Fiverr.

It's tough when you get started with Fiverr, those first sales are most important, you must offer quality and if possible over-deliver your service, take a minute and ask the buyer for feedback, be polite, ask them to leave a comment too.

Avoid the biggest Fiverr mistake, don't copy someone's GIGs, just in case you wanna give it a try you better come up with an improved version, the truth is this... original GIG has hundreds of positive reviews, while you have none or just couple.

GIG you think advertiser will choose? That's why... when you duplicate a GIG make it your own by adding something new and valuable to advertisers. Only this way you could attract them.

You must have some skills that can be sold on Fiverr for not less than $5, I tried myself and miserable failed because I totally misunderstood like many others, to make money on Fiverr you've to offer something very unique and hard to be multiplied by others. First sales were hard to achieve but after that is no day I don't bank $20-$30 with Fiverr.

I need some ideas, tips, tricks to kick start my money making with Fiverr journey. :D

What I could sell on Fiverr?

Well there are tons of things which you can list on fivver. Like writing article, guest posting, designing, programming, videos and much more. So you should ask yourself what you are passionate about.

I keep hearing people talk about Fiverr like it's the best money making online site ever. Is it just that good or is there a catch to it? How do you make money?

Hi Sheebah,

Yes it can be. It's very populated now, so there's more competition on there just from the sheer number of people participating in contrast to what it was 4 or 5 years ago, but you can still do well on there if you know how to stand out from the masses and provide an attractive pricing structure.

As you know, the services are usually $5 for something performed or offered, but you can do block quantities of a time or service for $5 at a time and multiples of it.

Since 2013 I think they made that more practical and easy to do to where you can now charge any amount, but the base offer for most initial services are still quick, easy, and affordable starting at $5.

I hear that you can do custom orders for any product or service, such as: "I will do X work for Y minutes at the rate of $5 for every extra block of Y minutes that you need me to.", so it's become a lot more flexible.

Ever since Craigslist took a nose-dive, its replacements are scattered between everything from Ebay Classifieds to OfferUp. So Fiverr is a good place to still get things done and offer services to other people in its place if you can stand out from the rest.

The harder your product or service is to copy or replicate, the better you will do usually.

Yes I have looked on the site and noticed there are so many offers. How can one choose, and that is kind of discouraging. You have to be very unique and I feel like I could bring a unique and fresh approach to those who are offering Graphic Design services, so I think I may try it. I still am kind of intimidated, but I have nothing to loose.

Most of the people think Fiverr is great way to make money, although some has making excellent money, but their charges are more out of $5 you get somewhere $3.5 because their fees is $1 and paypal fees is .5.
Do you know how much time you need to complete the client project?
I have tried once to offer some services, but the fees made me not to post on them.

If you want jobs from Fiverr, try to get some feedback by paying to some other clients in the startup and from their onwards you will be getting much more jobs.

I have sold at Fiverr, and I still have a gig up. I did notice that they take a lot of fees out for what you're making, and it also takes about two weeks just for your money to clear. Since the items I sell need to be shipped it makes it more difficult for me to work on Fiverr. It also seems rather slow to get someone to purchase your gig. But there are some pretty successful Fiverr's up there that do well. I guess it just takes time to build up a following of repeat customers. I wouldn't call it a waste to try though.

After carefully researching and looking at all these posts full of information..I have decided that it may be a great opportunity over time. It seems difficult to make your profile and specialties stand out from the rest. I am not completely sure how some people are more successful than others..but I bet it has much to do with how long they have been working with Fiverr

They are, I have found FIverr to be the most frustrating to sell on out of all the selling websites I use. I'm sure it's not that bad if you have an item that doesn't need to be shipped. You can avoid the shipping costs, and trying to properly figure in how to clear the right amount of money for your hard work, shipping, and Fiverr fees without eating up everything you just worked for.

Hummm I didn't know they charge that much. I have been tempted to try it out but I had other things that I started doing so I never did sign up. After hearing this I'm glad I didn't.

To be honest, I've checked out Fiverr before and tried to sign up. But I immediately got intimidated by the competition. I saw this one children's book writer and she has a lot of clients. I think she's one of the top earners in there. And I was quite shocked that people there has that many clients and projects.

I thought that I can't very well compete with that if I'm a newbie. I even thought that if I had been in that site earlier, I might be more successful in it now. I don't know if it's a right thought, but that has lead me away from the site.

You have to make a wrong quote to sell products on Fiverr an example: get 50 backlinks from high PR sites for $5.
I don't know how people buy those products when it takes huge time, still I see some of them post, Get a website design with 5 pages for $5.

Well you did a good thing b exempting them, but still give a try to them and see how it goes.

I've used Fiverr a number of times in the past for SEO, and most of the gigs really helped. I can't tell you if Fiverr is a good place to make money because I've not tried it until just recently. Only yesterday I created my very first 'gig' on this platform, so only time will tell.

I've already had my first inquiry from a potential customer, which surprised me to tell you the truth. I thought I'd be waiting weeks before that would happen. I'll report back on this thread from time to time to up-date my progress.

I worked on Fiverr for a few months. It's a good service, but that's dependent on your niche. If you offer graphic services - I was an artist there for most of my tenure - you'll get plenty of requests, assuming you're a halfway-decent artist. I found it much harder to get any takers for my written work. The more extras you can pile on top of the initial $5 the better, though, and that's where most Fiverr clients make their money.

The major downside of Fiverr, at least as of when I used it, was the inability to easily turn down projects. I made it very clear what I was offering, yet I'd often get buyers who wanted to me to do completely different jobs - and expected me to deliver far more than $5 worth of work. Expect to get annoyed by ignorant buyers if you spend a lot of time on Fiverr.

Fiverr works a lot with supply and demand. Since it doesn't work on the local market but on the world market at large there will always be possible clients for any service. There are sites that might pay more but then again they will be more demanding.

When Fiverr started that days had a value for $5 for that quantities, but in these days rate has been gone up for anything. I don't think the whole world relies on Fiverr, just do a search in Google about Fiverr and you'll find a lot of bad results.
Anyway If it worked with you, then good for you. One need to know what is cost for a 500 word article, do you find an $5 article in forums? if so what is the worth for buying it?
