Being a manager in business, there are certain times when you have to take tough decisions. Many types of employees work in a business or in a company, they have different potential and working experience. Some may have excelled in their trade, in other hand there are some employee who are very slow to learn.

In such a case when an employee is not able to give his full potential that is expected from him, will you fire him from the job? Because as a manager you have to think for the larger good. There are practical examples where manager fire their employees for their incompetence. Will you also do the same in that situation?

The trash is the best friend of a successful business owner, lots of people are incompetent, and tend to do what ever they choose, especially if they're given free hands. When I talk of trash I mean laying off bad eggs, any staff, or worker that doesn't give his best to make your business go further, isn't worth working for you, he/she is been paid for the work they do, so a layoff isn't bad inasmuch its for the right purpose. This doesn't mean you sack at every little fault, sometimes it's best you give warnings or second chances.

I also think the same way, people are paid to do a specific job or assignment. Except the business owner is the manager is being sentimental in decision making.
Without productivity, the organization can not be on profits and every hands are needed to make that to happen.
So if you are incompetent maybe the position is meant for you....

Like rightly said, every business and organization are bound by rules and regulations.
Every employed and even management team should not be exempted.
There are room for permission Incase one feel ill and should not be punished. But when someone goes law that are punishable , it should be meted out to such....
Yes sacking is the last correction effort by organisations to erring staff. It's meant to keep the company in shape and instill that fear in the minds of workers. Makes them to be careful of their behavior so they won't be relieved of their duty. However we know everything good is usually turned into a bad stuff by some individuals. Sacking now is used as a vendetta by some bosses to punish workers for other private related offenses not related to the work place.

It's not easy to make the decision to let an employee go. In cases where the employee isn't breaking any regulations or grossly underperforming but is nonetheless obviously failing to meet expectations, the decision becomes very difficult.

Some soul-searching is in order. Imagine the ideal group of employees who can help your business succeed in the future. How about this person? Do they have access? How hard would you try to keep this individual if he or she told you they or were leaving?

Firing an employee could be an emotional thing, especially if the employee has been the part of the company for a really long time and if the employee is really dedicated. I would never fire anyone like that. I believe that when an employee becomes a major part of the company, he tends to become more loyal as compared to other workers.

In some circumstances, there are some employees that will not deliberately disobey or go against the rules and regulation of the business but circumstances beyond their control will make them do so. Such employee should only be punished and not sacked. There should be flexibility around the law governing the business.
Sacking should be truly be the last resort. And there should be cogent reason behind it. If the reason behind it is justified, another stiff punishment may be given. A worker should onky be sacked if he doesn't show any remorse to the sins that he committed. With this, the boss may be justified if he sacks the worker outrightly.

Firing someone from his duty is really relative . If a staff has committed an offence that has gone against the rules and regulations of the business or organization he might be given a query depending on the weight of the offense.
But if the employee has repeated the offences without remorse, he should be fired....

Even if an employee is reported to the management it is the responsibility of the management to carry out due diligence and ensure that they claimed that was laid was right before taking the action. Although, in some situations, the company would have no choice other than to fire such employee, so that it will not have a negative impact on the success of the company.

Knowledgeable employees are invaluable to every company, as they help shape its identity and ensure its success. Suppose your company is fortunate enough to get a dedicated team of individuals who take pleasure in their job and believe in the company's mission. In that case, it is in your best interest to do whatever you can to keep them on board so that the company can weather the storm of a volatile and unpredictable economy.

If an employee of an organization goes against the rules and regulations guiding the company he is working with. And after several warning and query had been given to him and he still fails to improve or correct the wrong things that was made to face those queries.
The company may not have other options than to let him go.....

For the company to go through torrential times you will need a contribution of a knowledgeable and well experienced employees. It is important that whatever it takes should be done to keep such employee to help the company scale through difficult times.

If an employee is not competent, that is he or she is not adding any value to the company, there's nothing wrong in sacking such employee. As a manager, there are some tough decision you've to made if you want the company to be moving forward. There's no point in keeping an employee that's not competent in a company.

After sending several warnings and the employees seems not to change , he should be shown the way out of the company. I have always emphasized that the interest of the company should come first because that is the essence of coming to work. If you are putting the interest of the company as secondary, it may be detrimental.

Well anyone who tries to draw the name of the business he or she is working on down can be fired at any time. Most people that do get fired from there work are people who do not take there work serious or are not good at there aspect of work in such business which might lead the name of the business to the mood can get fired.

The question is a no-brainer because we are talking about business here. I wouldn't keep on my payroll someone who can't deliver according to his qualification or roles applied for. Pity shouldn't be a criterion for keeping workers on your payroll rather their capabilities and willingness to learn and grow.
That's the repercussions of employing people based on favoritism. There are many people that have not had some of their workers sacked just because they are from the same families or clique. I don't see any reason why a business owner will hold on to someone that doesn't contribute meaningfully to the organisation.

Not necessarily favoritism especially when it comes to private businesses. Some kind of error in the course of interviewing an applicant may get the wrong person into a position but not for too long unlike in government jobs where connections play a very huge role in securing and maintaining a job or position.

Though so far I have work, I have never see when they fired anyone in my eyes from his or her job but I know that for anyone to be fired that means he or she is incompetent of the job or he or she is found faulty in one way or the other as he or she is running his job. That is why one has to be very careful in order of him or she not be fired from any job of his.

Managerial roles are very sensitive and you get to make sure that only the right thing is done always.

Whenever someone is misbehaving, especially at the detriment of the business success, there should not be any delays in making sure they get fired.

Firing someone is not something hard, provided I'm sure they're wrong.
Exactly if anyone or any staff of the organization goes contrary to the rules and regulations guiding the activities of the company, the management has the right to fire such erring staffs.
When you find yourself in a working environment, sentiment are put aside and everyone works for the good and progress of the company....

It depends a lot on how that person works and if I'm happy with them. If he made a mistake I won't fire him because we all make mistakes and have to learn, but if he makes a mistake on purpose or just doesn't understand what he has to do on the job then I will probably fire him because nobody wants incompetent employees who to lead them to loss.

As a manager I am supposed to monitor and evaluate the abilities and potential of all my staff. For instance I realized a staff is not potential and not in a position to deliver what is required of them in certain department, It's my responsibility to transfer their services to a different department. As a manager I can only fire an employee who has violated the rules and regulations of the organisations more than twice.

I don't want employee to feel totally bad to me, I can't just fire employees directly, I will only do so warning and giving him/her time to adjust and do a good work
I am sure you may have this thought changed may be when you start your business. There is always limit to how well we can treat our employees. If they are not reciprocating the love that we have for them, I don't see any reason why we still need to be keeping them. Warnings consistently may not work out.
