❕NEWS Fidelity Receives Approval To Becomes Canada's First Institutional Bitcoin Custodian

The Investment Industry Regulatory Organization of Canada (IIROC) recently approved Fidelity Canada, to function as the country's first bitcoin custodian.
Due to this remarkable development the company has deploy a new bitcoin trading and custody platform for institutions like pension funds, portfolio managers, mutual funds, and exchange-traded funds (ETFs) for direct exposure to BTC.

This would mean that bitcoin would get a lot more exposure in canada, wondering if its will be just a matter of time before canada will be the next country to recognize bitcoin as a legal tender?

Your last line might just come to be in future. This is all to create more awareness which will increase acceptance that is really high and seeing as legal tender will be very easy

I think Canada may not legalize bitcoin or any other crypto as legal tender anytime soon but they will allow the use of cryptocurrencies for activities like the just like United State.

I think it's a good development , since it's a crypto custodian firm , they could also help promote cryptocurrency just to enlighten the people more about cryptocurrency and they would know the best steps to take regarding cryptocurrency investment ,I am already liking Canada move on Cryptocurrency

Yes they are just allowing the use which we saw and they tried every possible solution to manage and break the people that's good as well actually and people who are cowards usually do such things actually and that's not uncommon in strong countries
not that the people can do anything tho and might not be cowards , because it's the government to decide the fate on how they want crypto currency to take , people can make their recommendations on how they want crypto currency to get legalised in the country ,but it's all the government choice to accept things or not

The best is for every country to legalize the use of cryptocurrencies in the country as an alternative while they tighting their security measures on money laundry especially in Countries where such activities are high. Almost all Citizens across the globe are using cryptocurrencies whether authorized or not by their respective government.
