Hey there everyone,

The Federal Investigation Bureau is expecting the amount of blockchain-related frauds linked to the COVID-19 outbreak to increase.
The FBI cautioned in an April 13 media statement that the increase of crypto-related scam activities can only be helped by more people being made aware of such scams.
Hence, I would like to circulate this so that we are all made aware and stay safe!

Thanks for reading!

Thanks , so many scams now , can't tell which is legit or not :(
Thanks for the heads up , remember guys , if it's too good to be true , it's a big fat scam !!

Yeah absolutely, no problem at all, my duty as a user of the internet is to make you all aware of such warnings and reports to there's that... anyways yeah you are right, if it seems too good to be true it definitely is a scam

Actually I read in a blog some days ago that the cryptocurrency related scams have been gradually decreasing during the corona virus period , that is now.

The issue is that transactions can't be tracked which means, no matter who does a crime related to that, it's so hard to find him and punish him, editing the way how it works would be better

To an extent some of the transactions can be tracked now cos you will discovered that some of the wallets now do run KYC ( know your customer) check of recent though it has not been made compulsory cos I still use my blockchain wallet and I am yet to do it but notification always pop up whenever I log in.

scammers are all the way out before Covid 19 happened
it's just now people got out of business and they need money this why they search on the internet and get scammed

The warning was really necessary. Ever since the start of the virus, I have come across many crypto scammers. Mostly those sites that promise to double or triple your bitcoins or any other cryptocurrency after a short period of time, say 24hours or 48hours. There have been so many such sites and most of them become scams after a short time. Others are the cloud mining sites.

No matter the tactics employed by the scammers , I will try to beat them and remain unscam cos I don't believe any 48 hours ROI businesses. It is good the FBI takes the necessary measures.

Scamming has always be striving way before convid 19, but it taking a huge increase now due to this complete lockdown. People need to be careful and avoid any fraudulent activities.

Yes the idleness and loss of jobs has made lots of people turned to cyber criminal especially those who have in-depth knowledge in programming.

Even when there was no pandemic and everything was fine , scammers were pretty much alive . I think we should be fully aware of this wether the economy is good or bad .

Yeah they had been active but if you recall very well Crypto currencies activities boom largely during this pandemic so they became more active because there were lots newbies in the Crypto currency activities.

Well this is true as well. A wise newbie will always ask question before doing anything that will implicate or out his investment at risk

Not all, some people believe they are master of their own and some people are easily carried away with payment proofs so newbies easily fall victim of scams.

Thanks for this , if only people could heed to this and take the information seriously , because scammers do change methods and Ways to manipulate people

Thanks for this. It is good the FBI gave out this warning. Scammers are on the rise and they are ever willing to defraud people of their hard earned money at all cost.

Sure they are more desperate during this pandemic period when people are more on online earning ,so they could start scamming people of their investment

I am sure a statistics will be released soonest after the pandemic on the scam rate before , during and after the pandemic.
