German authorities with the help of the FBI have seized around $30 million worth of bitcoin from a movie streaming site called Movie2K.to that streams movies and TV shows illegally. The site ran online advertising and subscriptions where most of the bitcoins were collected from people. The site owners managed to gain a total of $262 million worth of bitcoins but most of them were spent in real estate.

How about the owner? Did he get arrested yet? At least he's not scamming all those people since illegal movie streaming like that most likely accept crypto as donation.

As someone who lived in Germany, i can tell you that the law doesn't tolerate piracy there, a lot of my friends paid more than 1K euros for watching movies illegaly

From your post , I can figure out the reason behind this seizure , is cryptocurrency not allowed in Germany or did the company scammed people with the donation strategy ?

i believe they seized the earnings that those illegal movie streaming websites made as Bitcoin, kind of fair move since that's illegal money anyways and a lot of producers got harmed

If it's illegal then the owner of the site should be arrested and brought to law ,but didn't those people make research before entering or using those site and making donation s

if there are donators, then they will be involved in the issue as well, because that's piracy support, which is more illegal, but since people are using illegal movies, i believe that they can't afford legal ones, which means no donations at all, because if those people had money, they would spend it on legal movies instead

Alright they needs to make it legal because most times do show movies that mislead the audience ,so things like this surprises me as well thats just it

mislead or not, you shouldn't really stream something you don't own and make profit from it, the rest is up to the responsable regions about movies

Was this money only gotten from users subscription, that was definitely huge. Well, since it wasn't a kind of scam by users then I don't really blame the site.

Not really. From the post it was very clear that streaming movies was a form of piracy when done illegally. So the authorities have a reason to seize the funds.

Am happy they were seized, because if such thing happens in some countries they would have bribed their way out , and this should send some warning to other sites

Yeah they did the right thing seizing the funds to teach others a lesson I don't know why people just like the illegal route maybe because of cheap fast money

Yeah that's what people love to do since they feel the illegal route might make them earn better , not knowing that there is no shortcuts to sucess

Certainly, no shortcut to succeed any where especially if one needs to do the right thing to make legit money. I hope this continues and scammers stamp out to a large extent.

What is painful is the fact that illegal activities such as this means that some people are making big money and getting rich off some other people's sweat. It is very right to curb such.

At times I do wonder wether these online fraudsters have conscience at all . They steal from people that are poor the little money they have

Yeah that's the fact , only if the people could know such thing and flee away from their ignorance , it would have been better because this is not good at all

I don't think they do, they all have dead conscience because a particular fraudster can dupe different people at the same time. So there need not to be spared when arrested
