If you want comments on your site, you can solve it on two way.
1. Make users to register on your site using email.
2. Use Social Media plugins, most often Facebook.

My question is - which are better for SEO? Will search engine better rank site if comments are posted using social media plugin or from registered users?

Thanks for answers.

I think when you let people remain anonymous, they will participate in commenting, if they have to register or share their social profile just to leave a comment on a site, they may avoid commenting. That's because, in my opinion, these days people care a lot about their privacy. Personally, I would avid commenting if I have to register on the site or share my social profile
Yeah that is a great point, for me I won't register to just type a comment on a website that I don't know too, but if it is a known website, I may do it because I will be less worried about my privacy, and yeah privacy is an important thing that people should care about.

I won't advise facebook comment plugin. The comments made on your article will be in facebook database. If any searching is made and it direct to a comment made on your content. If the visitor click on the comments, it will direct them to facebook. But it is on your blog, it will direct them to your blog

I dont know about how search engines will react to that, but most users will prefer to use the social media plugins since it's just a single tap and they're done. Some too will not like to give out their emails

It is a very good thing for you to put comments section on your website and it might help you with customer retention but I do not think Google search apply so much priority to that. You should instead focus on making your website much more responsive and building quality articles consistently to make you to stand on top of search engine.

I think a plugin to let people use their fb to login in to your site is better although there are some people who don't want to do this and rather want to make a separate account in other sites. I think it doesn't really affect SEO, if people were to comment then that would affect SEO so I tihnk putting both plugins is good to give people a choice and easier way to login

This is where preference is going to come about. On a personal perspective I prefer to use Google or Facebook in order to log in because it is less tedious . There are some people who do not like this and it is very ok because it is not going to affect your search engine optimisation whatsoever so you should take your time
