Hi, I'm under 18, and I live in Canada. I just recently got into making money online, and am looking for some good money making sites. What are your favourite sites? So far I've discovered Swagbucks, and I tried TranscribeMe, but it didn't work out. Any sites you know of would be helpful.

I am mostly in forums because it is somewhat enjoyable. Unlike sites that require articles or short blogs, the forum is short bursts compared to those long writeups. And I have difficulty in reading long articles, maybe a short attention span. Maybe you might want to try social media that pays like Whzon and Tsu although the earnings are very minimal. With big money, I would suggest Blogjob. Although I am not in there, I have several friends who are veterans there.

A majority of people who have tried to register with TranscribeMe have not been successful at all, I would just like to know why?

Is it because they have a strict examination process or their tests are just difficult to pass?
TranscribeMe seems like a credible business and job opportunity of which many are happy with, but getting accepted is the "hard" part about it!

You live in Canada, which means your English is better than the people In Asia/Africa where people use English as second language. If you have good English skills you can try Postloop or The Forum Wheel. These sites are gateway to paid forums. Qualifying to Postloop and The Forum Wheel will help you earn from forum posting

Yeah, I've already failed three times doing their final examination test. I'm not sure if I even want to try anymore.

There are other alternatives for transcribing jobs. For example, Rev, Scribie, and also Speechpad. There's probably more, but those are the most common sites that I've heard about.

Hi there,

I'd steer away from sites where you have to watch videos, fill surveys, click on ads or complete offers. While no site which gives you a "specific job" can make you a lot of money, these are some of the ones that are at least legit and good for "beer money":

Transcribeme and similar sites - You transcribe recordings. (Very difficult)
Humanatic - You answer questions about phone call recordings. (Difficult)
Postloop - You post on forums and blogs. (Difficult to Moderate)
Forum wheel - You post on forums and blogs. (Difficult to Moderate)
Adf.ly - You shorten links and get paid for every 1000 clicks. (Moderate)

If you want to make "real money", however, I'd recommend that you create your own site/blog/forum, or sell physical/digital products.

Oh my goodness. I've tried Swagbucks recently, and it is a complete waste of time. I have heard so many good reviews about the site, and you can imagine how disappointed I was when I earned just a disgraceful 1 dollar an hour. It's good if you want to kill time every now and then, but it's definitely not a "part-time" job replacement I was holding it up to be.

My picks would be the following:

(1) Textbroker - It's kind of boring and pays low, but it's more of a job than most. Write a couple hundred words for a couple dollars, and you might make minimum wage per hour. Better than nothing!
(2) Postloop - It's alright. Low pay, but if you like forum posting, it's a nice time waster for some extra Christmas cash. Expect a couple dollars a week if you're persistent.
(3) Video game websites - These are a bit tricky to find, but these are super legit. I have written for two websites in my lifetime, and I got paid good money writing 1000 word articles. I could make a couple hundred a month, but I got caught up in school which forced me to quit.

Here are some sites you can make some extra cash with:
  • Treasure Trooper - A GPT site specifically for US, UK and Canadian residents.
  • GiftHulk - Another GPT site for US, UK and Canadian residents as well.
  • Get-Paid - Yet another GPT site with tasks like downloading apps, watching videos and answering surveys.
  • Perk TV - You just need to watch videos and you can earn money!
  • Shopkick - You get points each time you enter a store or scan an item.
  • Ibotta - A rebates app, where you scan the receipt or the item's barcode that you bought and you can get back some money from it.
Good luck!

My recommendation would be Perk TV. I won't get into it exactly, but basically you watch ads that continuously loop through, getting paid 1-5 points each add, with 1000 points = 1$. So, no, you won't make money fast, but you can make a bit very passively. Best part is, they have apps as well, so you can have up to 5 devices per app to "farm" passively. It speeds up the money making process quite nicely. I have 4 devices which I run when I get off of class, and run them until I go to bed. I average ~13$ a week. So, again, not amazing, but I'm not really doing anything for that money.

This would be a good start and provided you post good quality post you could make yourself some extra cash. Not enough to live on but it can put some money online for you to buy the hosting for your site.

iWriter is a site that pays well if you can write well.
If you're interested in transciption, then just create your own fiverr gig. Price it at par with your competition. And take full advantage of your "native speaker" creds.

I tried to sign up with them twice, both times got rejected. I would love to be able to do something like this. I currently work for a call center and can type upwards of 90 to 100 words per minute. I'm very good at listening and typing, but keep getting rejected. At least I know I'm not the only one. I was starting to take it personally!

I love Shopkick! I use it all of the time, and if you just scroll thru the products, you will find little envelopes in most that give you a free point. Takes sometime to earn points, but it's so simple! Perk TV is cool also. You can download perk point apps too thru your app store. ☺

I'm glad that Shopkick works for you! I have only downloaded Perk's other apps which are Perk Word Search and Perk Pop Quiz. But I included Perk TV since from what I've read, it's the most lucrative side earner out of all apps. Unfortunately, it is not available from where I am. Although like I said, I've tried the other two Perk Apps and I love them! I usually just let Perk Pop farm on my phone overnight. Unfortunately, I don't have other phones yet that I can use to farm more. I read that some people have up to five phones to farm Perk from. Lol! I guess I would have to ask my relatives for their old phones to do that. Haha!

Postloop (you get paid to write on forums and blogs), Prolific Academic (surveys) and Gengo (translation) are my picks, these specifically because I'm from Europe and here the offer is way lower than it is in the US. Gengo isn't that great if your language isn't really needed, or when it the jobs are posted mostly when I'm asleep.

Welcome to the making money online world! For my part, I like that there are so many different ways to go. Personally, I prefer paid to post, freelance writing and editing and social media consulting. Paid to post pays out quickly, so if you're looking for fast cash, although not much at a time, that's your first stop. You can search under gpt p2p for lots of opportunities. Be sure you sign up for as many forums and blogs as you can on each paid to post platform. Pay attention to the points each forum or blog offers and go for the highest point values and most posts per day allowed.

I Live outside of America, So I cant do things like SwagBucks or SlicethePie (I tried the latter once and it was horrible).

So now im using Postloop, which is really low income, but a less tedious way to make a few dollars. Heres a link, and yes im using a referall because im selfish.

Swagbucks has gotten really good reviews though.

My favourite money-making sit is Clicksense. I have a lot of referrals on Clicksense and I make a huge amount of money on that site. You just have to complete surveys and complete mini jobs on that site.

I hate swagbucks, as it's really time consuming and we just earn cents. Not for me. As for Transcribeme, I don't think they are accepting people, so I spent a lot of hours applying, for nothing. I'd say the best site for you has to be TheForumWheel, posting on forums can give you some money, let's say $5 every couple of days.

You live in Canada that supposedly mean to me you'll be used to English and accent of the people in North America. That exposure will help you in working at transcription sites where non native English people experience difficulty withy accents and pronunciations. I'd advice YOU visit these two transcription sites Scribie and Transcribeme. You can earn fairly good and can act as a good starting point for your online work.
