When I just entered the "money online world" I was not so sure if is really possible to make money online and after lurking about a week or so I decided to make my very first dollar online to prove it. After trying couple free ways to make money online I finally made it, $1 to my PayPal account, boy I was happy! I felt like the motherfuckin' Cristofor Columb discovered America that payment day.

How to make your first $1 online?

1. shrink + share urls = $$$ with the old adf.ly and linkbucks
2. file sharing (where you upload and promote your files and earn per download, this may puch you to blackhat space)
3. fiverr (got skills? sell'em on Fiverr for $5)
4. affiliate marketing with ClickBank (this is going to be tough but the rewards are great, I mean $$$ lots of $$$ if done right)
5. Blogging for Google Adsense money (is more passive income stream, takes time, you also must be approved by Adsense before ads sfow on your site whci also must be created and intereferes investments for a domain and webhosting)

Nice thread dude, I guess most of newbie will surely implement these for earning money.

To add my 2 cents, content writing is also awesome way to make money online,

I earned my first dollar online through content writing. While I continue the content writing job, I participate in Discussion forums, which also help me earn money online faster. I have keen interest in Affiliate marketing, but I have not tried it so far.

It's funny how I earn my first dollar online. In my case, I got referred to a well-known PTC site by my online friends. And after a few months of religiously clicking on ads, I finally earned my very first $1 online. After receiving the money, I quit and became a content writer instead for a small SEO company. Since then, I never went back to clicking ads as a way of earning online, such a waste of tine. Hahaha.

I think most of us started with pay to click sites but the truth is most of these ptc sites become scam and are a BIG waste of time because you earn cents per day. Affiliate marketing, Adsense, Cpa marketing are the real money makers online.

Yeah me too, and promoted my Adsense in PTR sites as they allotted that traffic in those days, mainly on search portals. Later they removed PTC sites traffic as it was 10 years ago.
I didn't earned anything in those days and all of them gone into scams, few of them paid me.

Online posting forums are okay as well. The payout is quick and you don't have to do much to start.

Also, places that pay a few bucks to write articles/blog posts are pretty good. Although sometimes the jobs are a bit dry and it's not like you can just sign on and start writing. Need an article you can write to come up...but it can definitely help.

Now I feel old. The first sale I made online was with a bulletin board system back in the end of the 1980's/start of the 1990's. I sold software I wrote for DOS. It was shareware, but they met me and paid for the full version to use with their business, so that was the first sale. I'm not sure that qualifies as a part of today's Internet. The first dollar I made from the internet was with assembling a computer from parts and making a web site for someone. They call that building a computer today, but having built one from breadboard and parts before, I still call it assembling one since it is not the same.

So in 80's: Software sale through bulletin board.
In 1990's: Computer assembly and Web Development.

Money Online, do you have any suggestions for Content Writing sites and whatnot? I signed up for Writers Domain, passed both their tests and got accepted, but I'm still on their wait list.

This is a specialized skill, but you can make okay money (couple hundred a month) on DeviantART doing commissions. Your work doesn't have to be really good, you just have to have quick turnaround and a niche to market to. That's how I made my first online buck.

I think forum posting is the most lucrative way to make money online.
Join a forum getway sites such as Postloop or The Forum wheel. If you have good English skills, you can get approved. If you ar rated higher, you can actually make at least $5 a day via forum wheel and postloop

You can make even $10 dollars a day, but it does not mean that you can withdraw and use the money within the same day. Other sites offer no deposit bonuses, which means you can make $10000 a day. How can you withdraw $1 per day? My first online dollar made me feel happy but it was never mine until after one month.

That's true. A lot of sites withhold what you earn until a certain payout period, or until you've met a certain requirement or level for payout. Even ebay holds funds in escrow now for up to 21 days after a purchase just to make sure a buyer is happy with a product, which I think is both good and bad. Good if it's a new seller, but bad if it's an experienced seller who already has a good history.

For the art and writing sites, I don't see why they withhold it like that when the content is either approved or not instantly, so there's no waiting for anything to be shipped or approved like in the case with material items that have to be physically verified.

It's no the fastest way but I got my first dollar online using my graphics card to mine litecoin a couple of years back. Right now I'd say your best bet are sites like clixsense or instantgc. For the easiest way, if you have a decent computer you can set up a virtual machine and run alexamaster or ebesucher auto surfer. You can make around 3 bucks a month. I know It's not much but hey you're actually not doing anything so is not that bad hehe.

Making money online is not as easy as most scammers portrays it to be. It requires a lot of patience and consistency if not passion. But making the first dollar should be easy enough for anyone. There are so many ways to make $1 online. The easiest I know is working for websites that require you to perform a simple task or complete an offer. Examples are MTurk and Cashcrate.

I got my first dollar online from ptr's, I remember it didn't take that long but thew site didn't last very long. I was doing ok until I got hit with the autosurfer scandal. Who remembers 12daily, good grief it seems like a life time ago. I find that there are always new ways coming up to make money online.

I tried making my first buck on Neobux a while back, but the site turned out to be a scam. I'm currently new in the "online money making" genre, but I hope I'll learn from seasoned veterans here on the forum!

Since when Neobux is scam? I'm not on ptc sites but I know this one and Clixsense was very trusted ptc sites to earn money.

I believed it was a scam because I couldn't access it anymore from my country. I've tried it recently and the site just doesn't connect for me. I'm sorry for my uneducated response.

Another one is Microworkers, I started to use it 12 days ago, it accepts a big variety of countries. So far I have done $5.02, but I cannot do more tasks until the ones I submitted are rated. The good thing is, with time you can accept more and more because you will have more tasks that were rated, I have not yet reached the withdrawn amount required, 9$, but I know the first time you want to withdrawn, they send a letter to your real physical address, through the mail, with a PIN number, the only problem is that it could take up to 21 days before you receive the letter, but you will only need to do it the first time you withdrawn. To receive money you need to do a variety of tasks that are worth at least 0,05$ each. It's important to receive a good rating there, it affects the amount of jobs you will receive. I believe many of you already know it, but is always good to point out.

@madetofly I never registered Microworkers but I've heard of them many times, WOW... they send a letter like AdSense does to verify new accounts, Microworkers want serious people on their network, that's for sure.
