A new malware known as ElectroRAT has been infecting computers and stealing users' crypto keys. Intezer Labs has discovered this new malware and asked people to be aware of it. The malware can download files, take screenshots, and steal information. Already 6500 users are affected by the malware. Intezer Labs advises infected users to move their crypto to another wallet.

I guess the malevolent people are not idle again. Is there any information that it is transmitted from which software or applications?

Thanks for this update, I try as much as possible not to download unnecessary apps because people will definitely be looking for ways to steal coins now with the high price.

That is why is not advisable to down load app from untrusted company. Apps that circulating around these were not really mend be what they are.

Even on Google playstore there are some apps that their activities are not reliable, until many people has given positive reviews I don't rush apps.

Thanks for the answers. Today I came across similar types of headlines and warnings on some other forums. I think we should be very careful.

They keep coming out with something more dangerous and the unsuspecting populace unknowingly have their data stolen and their money lost.

It's best to avoid downloading apps you don't need. Sometimes, they may even hide as updates.

I always restrict myself to the most basic apps I need. All those apps that pay, are a no-go for me.

You are right, most of the mining apps and apps that are reward do have hidden or spy in them and if you watch what you will earn from them they are minor.

Google playstore must seriously check the app twice before accepting it go public. There are many scammer apps even now which try to steal money. There are also clones of regular using payment apps.

I think google play just have this lenient regulations regarding apps, i remember one dev at an earning app saying that an app shouldn't just be watching ads. But should have gameplay . I think google play isn't really checking every app that gets listed , there are alot of scam btc miner app in the playstore

Yeah I agree with you , scam bitcoin miners , bitcoin spinners , and what not , everything just meant to deceive people who think these apps are legit , luckily we have reviews section where one can check the reviews before installing app.

Nowadays fishing and malware are everywhere. The more new technologies come out, the more scammers and hackers updated. Day by day they using new methods to scam crypto holders. We should beware of these types of attacks.

Indded those marwares can easily get into the databses of your compueter and can make them hack and ask for ransom and bribe , they can corrupt and damage your hard disk and change the system permissions which is pretty harmful to be honest

Still the review section of the apps still have a lot of spam 5* reviews and just spam reviews in which to make the application rank high , and there some app that promise rewards id you rate them 5* which is bullsht

yes, this is sooo true. I have been a victim of a scammed crypto invested funds. Unknowingly, they had access to my wallet password after registering with them.
I was hospitalized for over a week because it was a large fund I had invested there, but fortunately for me I came across one of the forensic expert in cyber fraud who helped me retrieve my lost funds.
Many who might have fallen victim to such particular app or company might need to contact this expert, below is the expert mail.

Yes those apps which reward points for giving 5 star reviews in playstore are no doubt a scam , these apps usually have very high minimal withdrawals and never pay.

I don't think one with good amount of coins should be told this. Anything fake will bring a. Repercussion people need to be careful where. They dump their money

I see. But could this malware named ElectroRAT, attack and steal cryptocurrencies even in the hardware wallets?
Thank you.
It depends on the virus but yep there are viruses like that, but hardware wallets generally don't have access to internet unless you use them, unless you were using it and it got infected because you don't have proper antiviruses setup
