Facebook has previously tried in the past to release their own version of a cryptocurrency and unfortunately this was not deemed to be a success. In fact there were many people that were unaware of the existence of this coin, and there were many more that were not interested in investing in it, despite knowing about it. Recently it seems that the name of the Libra coin has been changed and is now referred to as Diem. Furthermore, the headquarters for this crypto has shifted out of Europe and is making its way to America. Do you think this will help in its success?

My own point of view is that if facebook really wants to launch its own coin, it would and it will be a success thanks to the huge audience making use of the platform.
There's a lot of people that are currently using the Facebook application and social media however I feel that he starts that Facebook has taken regarding cryptocurrency and posting about it has severely impacted how people are receiving their own cryptocurrency.

I agree with niftyicon that if facebook release his coin and it's a good opportunity for crypto earners and they are all gone to the safe zone because digital currency still not legal in many countries.

Well its not really about changing of names since its owned by Facebook, there are still regulatory bodies that might not support the existence of the crypto , since the coin already have privacy issue

Any coin owned by Facebook would sure get enough promotion and adoption by people as Facebook is already an established firm that doesn't need more promotion. The name change does not matter at all.
But also lot of negative attention, since FB is in focus of regulators in many countries. The Libra project has been started in cooperation with many fin techs but many left already. Unfortunately it never has been a smell of success there

I wonder why Facebook didn't took it in their hands to advertise this coin.. they will be the ones to benefit.. but they didn't..

The too much regulation is really affecting the development of the project and I think if its too much , its adviceable for facebook to do joint corporation with another company

The negative attention is expected as so many opposition would definitely present since Facebook is a big firm and competitors would feel threatened by this crypto move.

The government that benefits from the move they are planning would even support the move for crypto adoption, but for now they want facebook to continue with use of flat payment and coupled with privacy issue

This is news to me and to top it all that the same coin is still undergoing reforms as it is in development. But we just have to wait and see if Facebook will go through with this coin

Another reason why there would be more opposition to Facebook developing their own crypto is the fact that people would believe it would be easier for Mark Zuckerberg to lure his ignorant users into investing, which doesn't make sense as most don't understand the risk involved.

Exactly they would have study the fact that facebook wants to gain more revenue from transacting the coin , and probably what is promoting and aiding their passion for creating a digital currency

Facebook is big enough to crack any industry if they really wanted to. They simply didn't market their coin enough, they are already big so I'm certain many people would have wanted to be associated with them.

They market it but it seems people placed no interest , maybe probably it was a stable coin , i would have wanted them to try a flunctuating crypto and see the demand

Oh maybe that's where the problem is that it's a stable coin. People want to go where they are going to make profit, I really didn't know about this coin hence I think it was poorly marketed

There is actually no need for one to even consider Facebook's coin then, since it is a stable Coin. A lot of us are majorly interested in Profits making so Facebook's coin isn't going to meet that expectation.

The problem with facebook is that they didn't know how to advertise their own coin to their own users, majority of their users didn't have have any idea what Gemini was

Some people are already satisfied with the amount of stable coin they have , i dont know why facebook choose to create a stable coin , they would have created a crypto thats is flunctuating after the failure of libra coin
