Facebook, one of the biggest social media, has announced that they have changed the name of their parent company into a new one. Previously known simply as Facebook company, now they changed the name to Meta. This name change reflects the company's ambition to expand its business beyond that of social media alone.

That is a great move for them. But I really doubt if people will get used to this name fast enough. I guess people will take some time before they start being comfortable calling Facebook, Meta.

That is a great move. Most business name limit establishment to expand. Facebook has achieved alot and it's only natural to expand to other fields outside social media. With the change of name will definitely expand the administrative activities of the work.

This is long overdue as facebook has continued to expand into a brand of influence even bigger than a single government.You can imagine that the recent just ended elections in my Country in Zambia were mostly relied upon by social media and Facebook to be exact contributed to the recent triumph of the sworn in president.

This magintude of power is evolutionary and sort after by Marketing,financial and pressure groups that stand for their cause and views to be heard.

You don't have to be upset,they don't have any rival and using the name meta is more like expanding the scope of facebook beyond the agenda of chatting and meeting people.

When you look at the series of allegation that Facebook has encountered in the past couple of months then you can easily understand your decision. I just pray that it is going to be a good step in the right direction for them.

fake book should be shut down because of the usa anti trust laws. but it wont be ever shut down by any government agency, in the usa or any where else. the reason is that the governments world wide, use fake book to monitor, stalk, get private personal info about people, use fake book in investigations, etc. fake dork is still back by a CIA owned company, sort of makes you wonder.

Read about the change online before it was even effected, I think it is a good one if there are other branches of business that they want to incorporate, so it that just be the right thing to do so that all the businesses will be under an umbrella and get wholly covered by any protection that will be put in place

I guess they really want to be in the meta of what's going on now. Puns aside , wish they reached out to their users or even just inform or send notifications about this change, i kinda saw the meta name quite awhile ago it kinda pops up whenever you open facebook or instagram like the opening loading screen i really thought that a new company have bought facebook and instagram

I do not see the reason why they should change his parents name. Anyway they have their own reasons and they will always do what is best for their business. the change of the name actually made a lot of cryptocurrencies in the metaverse category to rise in the past few months.

I still have not come to terms with the main reason why mark Zuckerberg decided to consider a change of name, I believe he has some massive future projects in mind that is why. But I doubt if they will completely discard the name, FACEBOOK, as it iwas the original name from beginning which a lot of people already know even before now. Also he won't want to let go of his FB.com domain name too.

I believe that it was only a matter of time before the company was going to rebrand and if possible give itself a parent company like the way Google is to alphabet. This has become necessary because of the series of lawsuits that Facebook as an application has been receiving in the past and as such they want to put it outside.

Facebook has actually become even more popular and the most funny thing is that people have already associated the company with WhatsApp and Instagram so it is definitely going to take some time before people get used to it. If it start getting listed on the stock market then I think that it is just going to be a matter of time.

It will actually take a very long time for the name Facebook to be erased from people's mind and I hope this decision won't affect the popularity of Facebook because a lot of people aware of the name Facebook than any other name and personally I don't see any significant reason why the name should be changed.

Facebook has been coming under a lot of criticism in the past few months about the way in which it has been handling patients that are and this is a particular move in which I think it is very predictable and to a very large extent it is the best thing that they have done. In this way they can be able to further protect some of their services like Instagram and with time it is definitely going to be in the past when people begin to adopt the name.
