An ex yahoo employee was sentenced to jail for 5 years for hacking thousands of users accounts, in september an ex software engineer in yahoo admitted that he hacked 6000 yahoo accounts in 2018.
He admitted that he hacked the accounts of the girls and the other workers with him and he was searching for sexual content in their accounts, and he used internal systems for that, and since he has their login details, he started to use the same login details in other platforms such as facebook, gmail, iCloud, Hotmail, Dropbox etc ...
He managed to collected 4000 pictures and videos that are worth of 2 TB's.
He also admitted that he did it just to satisfy his self-gratification and he didn't share them on internet, he also damaged the hard disk that contained the data he stole.
In those 5 years of jail, he's allowed only to leave his home to go to work in a job where he's being spectated and he's being served the medical and religional things he needs, he also must pay 120K $ as a punishemenet to what he did and another fine of 5000$.

So, basically a pervert that hacks people accounts to look for their personal photos...

He should be hanged because of the crimes he committed.

gotta agree, 5 years of home jail is kind of unfair, he literally got access to people privacy, and it's really annoying especially when it comes to sexual stuff

If caught he should be put in jail for thousands of year.. I mean am just saying.. I think this must be the same reason hy they chase him away from the company
he's an ex software engineer, "ex" stands for previous, which means they can't actually fire him if he doesn't work in the company at the first place

The prosecution for him seems just. But in my country most at times when people like these are caught they are usually given jobs, this way their hands are busy and won't go into such things, don't get me wrong I am not trying to justify what he did, but he should be given a job.
Haha! That what I have been seeing hapenning here too. Those who are good hackers get jobs. It does not justify their actions but at least they get busy and they could also be an asset to the company due to their skills.

and that what actually happened if you read the last part, he's working now, but jailed at home and he has only the right to do shopping and practice his religious routine and nothing else

Hacks for self gratification and also to get sexual or private contents he should have a harsher punishment for that especially with the amount of data that he got

Honestly, this is high level privacy invasion, this is one disadvantage of partnership or hiring and firing people placed in a sensitive area of business. Yahoo all to have upgraded their system immediately he left.

Oh wow, what a vile piece of work! I don't even know why self-gratification is such a thing for hackers. He was invading thousands of people's privacy in the most horrible way possible and he says he just did it for his own selfish reasons! I'm glad he's now paying for his actions.

lol.. the guy must be definitely a looser.. because i don't see any gain for all what he did.. if he need sexually stuff.. he should goto p**n site now.

Well, not everyone thinks the same way, and some people have some weird mental illenesses that you cant imagine, even if there are alternatives, his curiousity made him do it

You are right, we reason different, his reasons for hacking were not even genuine any full assurance he broke the hard disk and doesn't have the file else where

yeah, if prosecuted and not given a job afterwards could do much worse and eventually become a serious menace to the society, this is not something that should be gambled, the better and faster they are given a job the best it is
The purnishme is too light in my opinion, having access to Job and having interaction will change anything from him ,it Should be thorough home jail with no access to people then he should undergo some correctional psychological examination.

Yeah, that is right. They should be given a job to keep them busy. The rules and regulations at the workplace can be effective in preventing them from hacking unauthorized accounts.

I am not against them being giving a job but while serving a jail time there shouldn't be that freedom at least they should be subjected to regimented life

Okay this is very annoying.. I don't even understand what he stands to gain from doing all that... except he's a pervert and sick in the head.. His punishment is even small.. Yahoo needs to get better.. I stopped using them a long time ago

I've also sat here wondering besides being spiteful or showing how easy it is to hack into a system, what do these people get out of it, really?! I found this upsetting because I'm still hanging onto a Yahoo account that I may just shut down. Maybe he really is unwell upstairs.

Just imagine the reason he gave,

Just imagine the reason he gave, that he did it to satisfy self gratification.
He should be given a very strict punishment to deter others from doing same in the future
yes i agree, you can't just jump in privacy just because you had the mood to do it, it might a joke for him but it's not for the others as this can't be tolerated

imagine the verdict after the atrocity he Committed and he still working and serving his jail time .like is it really cool to be judge in that manner after hacking into people privacy and still no true judgement.
there might be some restrictions for him, also him still working is a pro for whoever he's working for, as you are still making benefit from someone instead of jailing him and spending money on him without any proper use

That's sad. Companies should endeavor to restrict sacker employee access to their site , once a emoyee is sacked . this is to help protect customers details , as the sacked employee may out of revenge tarnish the image of the company with illegal activities.

Once an employee is sacked in a sensitive organization like this, they should know the services that needs to be changed especially the access to their servers or database.
