Miners are trying to increase the capacity of the Ethreum network so that more transactions can take place per second. A lot of miners need to work together for this to happen and its not an easy task. They are trying to increase the block gas limit of each block and if you didn't know what gas limit is, it is the number of transactions that a block can handle. The block gas limit rose from 10,000,000 to 12,500,000 thanks to the miners.

Wonder if Ethreum network can be upgrade just like how bitcoin has upgraded theirs to lightning network, though both of them are kind of different in a way.

Well that's a good news. I have had ethereum transaction stuck for 2 days , but then I cancelled and increased the miner fees. Hope this problem doesn't happen any more with ethereum network after this update.

The gas fee is so high and discouraging for someone to hold or transact on ethereum, for instance I wanted recieving $5 and the gas fee was about $2 which is not supposed.

Despite this great height , the gas fee is still escalating on daily basis and this is not something that one should be comfortable with . I hope that ethereum network looks for a way to make things right

Yeah they have done a great job well I thought the Ethereum gas fee is high these days and they are planing on creating another upgrade of Eth network

There are ongoing plans to reduce the high gas fee associated with ethereum transaction. This came as a result of investors in Defi projects built under ethereum network
