Ethereum Developer Virgil Griffith will be spending the next two months in jail before his trial in September.
Virgil Griffith on July 9 was granted bail with the condition not to access the internet until after his trial in September.

Seeing that his profit has increased by $1 million he was tempted to access his Coinbase account and as thus violated the terms of his bail. He has to remain in prison till September.

It's all very easy to spy on people and keep track of their internet activities irrespective of location and geolocation. Technology is really on the high side now.
The person must have consented to some terms and conditions for this to be possible, because it is an obvious breach of one's privacy and we know it doesn't make sense.

This might probably be true that he consented, but, the government always take control over anything they choose, with the believe that they have the power to do so.
Then this is just to show that our privacy is no longer secured as the government can use our details for any purpose. Do you think he can sue for privacy breach?

Even if I am on his shoes I'll definitely access my wallet cos such profit is indeed tempting. I believe he is out now? Because the month of September has elapsed.

as the joke goes. there are 11 commandments, not 10. the 11 commandment is - thou shall not get caught !!!!! and it looks like he got caught doing something he shoudlnt have been doing. in my opinion, he is just plan stupid to have been caught. sometimes the smartest people have no common sense. it would have been so easy to access his account - using an vpn, have somebody else do it for him while he was present, use the TOR or a bunch of different ways. rules & laws are made to be broken, in my opinion. the trick is not to get caught.

The offence he committed was not stated in the thread . The bails tern was not obeyed by him and he will definitely face the sanctions. The bails terms must have been agreed upon and the parties must have appended their signatures. So, going against agreement would attract the corresponding punishment.
