I've seen some people who do this but I'm unsure how successful it is.

First off they purchase a nice domain name (and hosting of course) then build the website platform.

The next step is to fill the forum, blog, or whatever it is with content, get it monetized, and then work hard to promote it on social media and other platforms.

If it's done correctly then the site will begin to generate a decent bit of traffic and revenue.

The final step is the sell the site on Flippa, Digital Point, etc.

So I'm wondering if any of you have tried this yourself or have heard of someone who was successful doing it?

How much were they/you able to make and how much time did they/you have to put in?

Thanks!

I have tried this, all steps are similar to what u said, except the step to earn decent bit of revenue, it requires lot of work, seo, marketing & social share to start, so for me it has not been very successful because revenue just dont start like that.

Yeah, one of the difficult parts is building the site to a large enough degree so that it get's approved by ad networks. It's relatively easy to get approved by Google Adsense but some of the better ones aren't so easy. I have a forum with like 8,000 posts and several hundred members but Adsterra and several other networks turned down my application. I got it approved with Google Adsense but I found their ads to be spammy and unattractive. Didn't seem worth it to me. I'd rather keep my site clean than have the extra $3 per month.

For me Google Adsense is the best ad network. While I don't have such niche sites I know there's webmasters with sites build for niches with $3 per click and even higher, Adsterra and any other ad network cannot compete with Adsense in these high paying niches, the only thing that can be a better alternative for Adsense is affiliate marketing in my opinion, where targeted and very niche specific traffic drive sales with $30 and up to couple hundreds of dollars per commission potential( i.e. ClickBank products from IM niche).

I have sold some of the sites by developing them on forums, and few of my friends sold on Flippa for a higher price. On forums we get low price, but at Flippa will be in thousands for each established site.
What I suggest is if you want to do such things, then you should consider to hire someone who can do everything, like link building, designing, posting.

Most people make sites for themselves, but when it is not making money, they offer to sell them somewhere.

Roughly speaking what's the most you've been able to make per month with Adsense and how much traffic were you getting to warrant those earnings?

I've heard a lot of good things about Adsense so perhaps I simply didn't give it enough of a chance. It was displaying off topic ads that looked ugly and even after customizing the allowed categories and waiting several days, it was still displaying the same ads.

Yep, Flippa is the way to go in my opinion.

The days over for showing Adsense ads and most beginners are still battling to get an account. I am seeing other people websites when I frequented them same ads, even the site is different, content is too different, but adsense ads are the same.

The only way to generate income is by selling ad space straight to the clients. If it doesn't happen, and selling it to someone, even though the Affiliate programs gone like PPC ads.

I posted here when I achieved 3 years with Adsense and I also posted here when I achieved 100 million ad impressions, I still hesitate to post my earnings online due to Adsense t.o.s. and other personal reasons.

The truth is this, without high traffic you ain't gonna earn much with Adsense, now earning much means different things to many people including me, this month I see huge drop in RPM on couple of my niche sites but this is due to advertisers, it's always been like this January and February lower, from March will go to normal RPM. That's my personal statistic and may not apply to other Adsense publishers since we don't have sites created on same niches etc...

You already know the RPM is calculated by many factors: from CPC of the niche to traffic type and the more clicks and ad impressions are generated the more money you earn.

Also is very easy with Adsense, you paste the code and rest of the job is done itself, earnings are automatically sent via Western Union[my choice] every 21st of the month if you have at least 70 euros in your account and thank you God I have much much more than that every single month. :D

From my research people are making tons of money with their blogs or sites especially the established one.I believe if one has tons of visitors monetize his or her site with appropriate ads network and other means of monetizing then one will definetely be in money even in the nearest future.

I have seen many persons doing this, yes.I have thought about it too,to build up a website, make it successful, and after that to sell it.The motivation was, that I have seen many threads about how someone has sold his wensite for $10 000 and so on...:Smile:I didn't even try to do this, because I couldn't bring enough visitors even to my blog.To sell a website, you better have thousands of visitors to your site and from natural traffic.

You are very right on this. It just takes too much time and effort. SEO is a very long process and you are losing money trying to get to the top of google or any other search engine. One fast way to get to the top it to establish many followers on facebook and twitter. You can also join forums that has topic about your niche or product. These are what you call laser targeted leads. The only thing you have to do is to get your product infront of them. Good luck.

Past few days I'm working with a website because I want to learn building it and then I can start mine. I need more things to learn and apply it in near future.

Wow.Congratulations to your online journey. You will need time and patience,to go forward with your website:building it,posting interesting articles, doing SEO.It is a wise thing, that you learn the essential basics of building a website and after that you start with your own.Wish you success.

Thanks for wishing me but I have problems and that is, I'm impatient and can't stick with one thing and that's why success always stay far away from me. I wanted to have my website since 2014 but I never tried and run my wordpress and blogspot blogs.

You are right. This way would be the easiest way to create a successful website. You can hire someone, who is pro doing all this things:writing articles, doing SEO etc,but to do this you have to invest a huge amount of cash. After all,you don't even know, that after the website is ready, you can sell it at a price,to cover all the costs.

You're right, I once had a friend who created a blog casually as at 2017, she monetized it and developed it a bit not until at 2019 when she got work exhausted and decided to take a break. She actually got offers to sell the site at a whooping sum but she refused. She quickly opted for the social media tools and through influencers and the blog came rushing back to life.

There are a lot of people that are known for their ability to create quality website and then build it up from the scratch. There are also some people who do not really like the stress of building up a website and as such they will just prefer to buy any one that matches their taste. This is why this is a very good business.

You can create websites with the intention of selling them in the future. however, you may not even sell them and still make money. You may create more than one site and try to post content on those sites regularly. This way you will improve the SEO of those sites and generate a good amount of money through more than one site. You may sell all of those sites if you want.

I created a blog site in the past, didn't make good use of the blog well after creating it successfully. When next I do into owning a new website, I'll create to maintain it for long, and still create others which I'll place on sale after building their traffic really high.
