I am planning to switch to another web hosting company, from Exabytes perhaps to Godaddy, as I have read many good comments about Godaddy.

At the beginning, my friend recommended me to host the websites at Exabytes because there is data center in my country. Now I am not sure how important this is, as so far, I haven't feel the difference whether or not the servers are located in my own country.

Do you think the location is important?

if you open gameserver then yes because it will affect ping and make game laggy, if you planning on opening website like forum board, it dose not matter as long as you using cloudflare.

the main problem when you hosting outside your country is when your isp international connection down. then you cannot access the website that you host

Thanks @syahpian ! So I guess for company websites or some simple applications, it should be fine. I think when the international connection is down, our internet is down as well, so that should be fine too. I don't know what cloudflare is, will need to check it out. Thanks for the information.

It does matter. Most of the US based datacenters are reliable. Some european are good too. I'd not go for asian datacenters like singapore one. I'd suggest based on the SEO control, you'd better get local web hosting company. But considering those are going to be on local dataccenter.

Coming back to the hosting choice. You can use the hosting company - exabytes, hawkhost, Kinsta, studiopress hosting. Avoid any hosting company owned by EIG hosting such as bluehost, hostgator and arvixe.

I didn't know the location of the data centre matters. I've learnt something today, thanks for the information. I will consider this before choosing a host.

It matters because the IP and the location decides that your website has demand outside the specific niche from specific location. and the SEO wise thats imporatnt. as more and more social networks are keeping data of the access made to the sites.

I don't think it has to do with location the best bet is just to hope that your host server is never down or else your site also goes down and you wouldn't be able to access your site. so you need a data centres to be in your country to have your site working fine.
