While browsing around this forum and others I've seen plenty of threads regarding which survey sites are the best. I see lots of users poo-pooing surveys in general, though, and it has me wondering whether surveys on the whole are worth the bother. I know I don't use them - they're slow, sometimes unreliable, and give away more personal information than I care to share.

Still, I assume people wouldn't recommend survey sites if they weren't making money. Is anyone on YpayZ actually making any decent money through surveys? What are your strategies?

For me, they are the biggest scams going. Not only do they pay very little ´per hour´ of work you must do, but many of the survey creators have now gotten in the habit of disqualifying you very late in the survey. My own belief is they are doing this on purpose. You answer 30 questions which is all the information they want, then on question 31 you get disqualified. You just lost 15 minutes for no money, and they got the questions they wanted.

I made $210 from Dec 2015-Feb 2016. It's not a huge amount, but I specifically set aside my survey money to buy home décor for my house. It has allowed me to completely makeover my spare bedroom. I wouldn't have had the funds to do this otherwise. To me it is worthwhile, but I understand why it wouldn't be to others.

I wouldn't say all survey sites are a waste of time. I do use several that are actually pretty good. One site I'm on (although it seems to be UK only now) is PopulusLive. They pay £1 per 5 minutes of your time (and when they say 5 minutes, they're often not even that long but they still give you the full £1 and their timings are usually accurate too). They also have "rapid response polls" which can be just 2-3 questions for £1. They're definitely worthwhile in my opinion. I think the most I've made there in one month was £93 (and that was just from this one site), but when you consider that £93 only took me around 8 hours throughout the month, that's pretty good for 8 hours work!

That doesn't mean every single survey site is worthwhile, though. You've just got to find the good ones, and the ones that work well for your demographics. It'll be different for everyone.

Can you name of that survey site? From my experience these survey sites are useful to only US people and the rest of the world don't get any offers. I may think some countries Austria, Germany, France, can get offers. When I was using PTC sites heard a lot about these survey scam site,

I never finished a survey. Every time I try to do one, I put my answers honestly, but at some point I get declassified with a message saying ' you are not what you are looking for'. The funny thing is I hear a lot o people say the love them because they pay a good amount o money, personally, I never got anything from surveys. Sometimes I think that the only way to do it is to lie when answering them.

Hello everybody my name is Amanda. I have been doing survey sites for almost four years. I have to say it takes a lot of patience to do survey sites but for some of them of them it does pay off. Mintvine is a goodone. Once you reach 1000points($10) you can cash out. Only thing is after taking a survey and getting your points you have to wait about a week before it clears.
Now this one is for amazon cash only but it is well worth it if you shop on amazon all the time. You download their app and take surveys. Once you reach ten dollars you cash out. Like every other survey you have screening processes yet it is not very often that you don't qualify. I have a whole list of them if anyone is looking to try ones they have not. I know I am always looking for new ones. Thank you.

This wasn't such a bad result provided that it didn't take that long. Well done.

The main one I use is an app called QuickThoughts. If you have an Android it pays in Amazon gift cards. If you have an iPhone it pays in iTunes gift cards (wouldn't be worth it to me if I didn't have an Android.) The other ones that I have success with are Mintvine, Myview, and QuickRewards.

Madetofly made mention of the fact that people must lie in order to qualify for surveys. I actually never lie, and qualify for tons. I have an infant son at home and that may be part of it. I just wanted to clarify that just because you don't fit the demographic that survey is looking for doesn't mean that you should lie. That completely skews the results and ruins the point of surveys.

Most of the survey sites accept users from my location, however, sadly, these survey sites do not have any survey available for the users in my location. It is very frustrating to answer questions and later be notified that the survey is not available in my location.

I have heard of a lot of people making good money doing surveys, but I have never been able to understand it because all of sites that I have ever had experience with was nowhere near able to deliver anything significant. I am sure I was doing something wrong, but it still did not seem viable. I am thinking that there are some secret sites out there that really pay if you devote your time.

Survey sites are just a waste of time. I have never made a single dollar from such sites and it gets so frustrating. These days I just avoid survey sites altogether and would advice you to do the same.

There are legitimate survey sites but they are rare and hard yo find. I have not yet found one so just do not try and look if you do not want spam emails and wasted time.

When I was younger, I couldn't find any good survey sites and my email ended up getting filled with spam just like you note here. However, now that I know what to look for and have found several helpful forums I've been able to do an alright job with them.

I'd say if you do end up going on a spree with survey sites - or most similar paid sites online, for that matter - you should set up an email specifically for taking all that spam abuse. I try not to sign up to anything where I'm likely to get spam with a primary email. Better to sign up for something you can safely ignore.

My husband had a sad experience with surveys. He had tried about 5 sites and his experience is almost uniform - couldn't cash out because he couldn't reach the minimum amount for withdrawal. At first the survey is given that is worth some cents. And after that, you will be asked to keep on coming back because there is no available survey for now. And it appears that most of the surveys are catering to US and Canada residents only. With the outsiders like us, we only get one or a few surveys like a sample but no chance of earning.

Hello everybody, when it comes to surveys it requires patience. We all have to understand that we are getting paid for answering questions and giving our opinions on what the subject is that they pick out. It is not like going out in the world and working for an hourly wage.
One of the most important things to learn and realize(as I did from personal experience) do not overwhelm yourself being a member of numerous amounts of survey sites. This won't get you money quicker as there would be more to work on taking time away from others you could profit from if given the time.
My advice would be to only work on a couple at a time till you reach the cashout. If given the right amount of time they can absolutely be worth it.

To be honest, I've never cashed out from any survey site I have joined. I started working online last year and survey sites were the first online jobs I tried. I have signed up for Prolific Academic, YouGov and some more other sites I cannot even remember now, lol. The thing is, I don't qualify much for surveys. With Prolific Academic, I got like two surveys within a couple of months. With YouGov, I don't even get surveys from it now.

I think it has to do with me being in an Asian country. I know some people get a lot of surveys simply because they're from America or UK. So in my mind, surveys are not that bad if you're from those countries.

That's too bad about Prolific Academic. That is actually one of my favorite sites out there. I get at least 3 surveys a day, if not more. I am in the US though and I'm sure that makes a huge difference.

Nope survey sites are mostly scam if you ask me. I have cashed out from only one or two of them, and that too after waiting for a long time to get surveys where I was target audience. It is very frustrating to get surveys where they ask you a few questions in the beginning and then suddenly decide that you are not eligible. From that time I have mostly stayed away from them.

Supposedly my first CashCrate check is in the mail, so unless they're A+ scums I managed to make $23 in just over a month. I only use the surveys.cashrate.com page, and I only attempt surveys paying over $1 (you'll also get emails with special surveys sometimes, those can pay really well).
There are days when I don't match up to any of them, but since it's very minimal time investment (maybe 1 hour a week total) I don't mind.

You're not going to make $10 a day on surveys, but if you want a little extra pocket change they can be fine.
