Hi all,
I'm just wondering if luxury item investment is affected with pandemic situation at all, would the re-selling price still high ? What do you think ? Will anybody want to buy it ?

They may have people that still patronize them but the population won't be that as it was before the pandemic . People were idle and without source of income for months thus some may not have much money to buy luxury things
My point is that the business of selling luxury items does not really entail having the ordinary people in mind. It is for the wealthy whose reason for not buying wouldn't be money but taste.

Yes, luxury investment is affected by pandemic. For instance, sellers of gold will suspend everything during the pandemic to attend to themselves, in case their health is unstable. Almost every business is affected by the pandemic because the demand for them was drastically low.

In my country, gold coins (not accessories) price are up 2x times its original price, not sure with the accessories, i haven't checked yet.
Yes i agree almost every business is affected especially the pandemic has going on gor months and probably still until end of year.

I can say the luxury market has taken a big hit during the pandemic and the mega-deal between Tiffany's and LVMH is on the verge of falling apart .

I think the reselling price won't be affected that much because people that want to buy will still buy the product if they need it , but it still depends on the luxury products

Virtually everything is affected in this pandemic. Even billionaire like Branson was forced to sell his island.

I agree with you. Everything was affected by this pandemic. I also bet that the luxury products were left behind. They also got affected in that they were not bought much as people were just at home due to quarantine.

I think people will still buy luxury item in high price especially the classic ones. Except if the owner really need money which is rare to happen since those who can afford luxury items mostly people who has lots of money.
Well stated, I do believe that luxury items are for the rich so I don't think theu will even be in a rush to sell it during this pandemic. Coronavirus wouldn't be here forever

That is true. Those luxury items are mostly bought by the rich and so their time for being bought will just come and when it does, they are sold at very high prices.

Surely because so many activities were on hold.international flights were banned.many many businesses were on hold and so right thinking mind will actually think twice to spend lavishly. Moreover, no one knows the time that we will pull through this virus.

Definitely, the rich aren't really affected by some disasters to the extebt of selling their luxury goods. They will rather wait till all is well so that they can see whatever they need to, to make profit

of course it got affected, people in this pandemic don't really think about luxurious things when the world is in a problem that happens rarely but once it does, it ruins everything

That's true you said about luxury items. Those who afford the money are mainly rich people, they can buy those luxury items because they got the money. The person shouldn't be in a hurry to sell his or her luxuries. Exercise patience and he gonna sell it at the normal price irrespective of covid19.

Yeah, a lot of people that buys these luxury items most have been affected maybe financially during the pandemic. Alot of businesses and investments didn't go as it should. So there will be a sharp drop

If the second wave become implemented fully, this will be another set back for most businesses again but I hope it doesn't last long.

In this pandemic, it might be possible to get a decent amount for those luxury items, but that's only if you know who to sell it too.

Not everyone was badly affected economically by the pandemic, and some people just can't do without luxury items. Those people will pay you the right price.

The people that has enough money didn't feel the heat of this pandemic as they could still afford the luxury items of these world especially those making money from online

Probably? Probably not, luxury items are aiming for wealthy people anyways. Wealthy people's money doesn't stop coming just because of pandemic. They probably earned more. Plus Big consumers of luxury products are from Top tier countries who doesn't follow health guidelines anyway

Only wealthy people can afford luxury items, and from what I observed in my community during the peak of the pandemic, the wealthy people stayed indoors, but though there was a reduction in sales of luxury goods, the prices are even more expensive.

Of course just like other things like area atoms are also affected by Corona pandemic.
Their prices are already high but now they become higher and out of reach from a common man.
