Do you smoke?

No... Never... I hate smoking. Here we are talking about active smoking but I'm a person who cannot tolerate passive smoking as well. I hate the smell of tobacco and if I'm exposed to it even for a short while, I end up in severe nausea.

Drinking and smoking are obviously bad for health and causes detrimental effect on our body so people still doing that must abandon this immediately.

I do not smoke. My family does not smoke. My grandfather was a compulsive smoker. He passed away due to having bad lungs caused by smoking.

I've been :Cigar: for about 10 years and the thing is, it escalated from 5 sticks about 40 sticks of Malboro a day. It all started out when colleagues handed me free cigarettes everyday. During that time I am also suffering from IBW as well. As the nicotine helps to expedite the nature call... I got addicted to it even though I hate the after smell of cigarette lingers on my fingers. At times, I even wear a plastic gloves to lit the cigarette.

On the 5th year of continue smoking, I end up in the hospital due to removal of growth of abscess that accumulated over the years that end up a pus blockage. Boy! you wouldn't want to know the :Arghh: after the surgeon cut up your rectum, brushed it, flushed it with saline and left it unsew end of a day operation. And recuperate by having Epsom Salt to wash the wound daily. During that time, I cut down on smoking for till 20 sticks a day.

I knew if I keep on going like this and would still have to endure some sort of unexpected nerve pain disorder. So, on the 7th year towards the day I move more to self discipline, I get the chance to learn more about other cultures and religious too. All religious have their way of fasting. From speech to body gestures you named it and they got it. So, I tried to fast smoking for a week and the 4th week was hard to endure. Acne started to grow all over the body and during that time I wasn't knowledgeable in health supplement and natural cure kind of things. So I started to kick back my smoking habit. And it got worsen up to 40 sticks a day.

On 9th year, I have more time to go to the library to search for natural cures. So, I read most of the herbalist book there whenever I could. Started to do slow running 3 days once and eat right. I started to think about what have I done for the past 10 years staying abroad to earn a living. And the factor that always triggers me to smoke and to stay away from it at all cost.

On the 10th year, it was the 1st time I've made my trip to a beautiful island for 4 days. I went to Maldives with my partner. Full course 3 meals a day for 4 days 5 nights. Inclusive an economic flights which I could afford. It's an eye opener like a heaven on earth. The air is fresh and the sea water is ******* clear. I've even managed to DIY sea salt from the sea water during my stay there.

During my stay, cigarette was complimentary but I didn't want to spoil the atmosphere. So, I did my scenery photo taking and snorkeling for the first time at the age of late 30's. From there also I could judge how unfit my body was as I was struggling in the middle of the sea even with life vest strapping around my body. It was a relaxing place. Total trip didn't cost a bomb. It was less than USD1,500 for two inclusive of flights, boat ride, good meals and special wine & dine.

After the trip, I didn't smoke until today and it's been 5 years since. It was a successful journey and a memorable one. :Singing:
