The domain market has been flooded with different domain extensions such as .club, .xyz, among others. Have you used them before and does your page rank?

I have used xyz. In the beginning, I was happy that I got it for small money and the name is what I wanted to have, however, later I found out that xyz is not recognized by ebay.I checked in ICANN WHOIS and I felt said that the extension was not recognized. Now I have decided not to use any new extensions.

I haven't used any of the new gTLDs. Since they are relatively new even if it has no impact on your rankings I think web users may opt to visit sites with .com, org or .net extensions because they've seen them for so long that they now associate quality with .com and a few of the old extensions.

To be honest anytime I see a .me site in the SERPs I never visit that site. For some reason I don't believe those sites are that credtible. I'm sure many internet users are just like me.

I would expect the TLD to have as much impact on SEO as the file extension you use for your HTML documents (.html, .php, etc.). Since most users are not looking for "php dentistry", it doesn't matter if you use .html, .asp, or .foo. I would suspect that a TLD that is related to your area would actually help SEO (eg. photography.club for your photography club).

One thing to really consider is that there are a lot of websites that will potentially reject your email address, claiming it is invalid. There are a lot of really poorly written email validation scripts out there that will do things like reject the following:

  • TLDs that are something other than .com, .net, or .org
  • TLDs that have the country code in them (.co.uk)
  • TLDs that are over 3 characters long

This was really common when the very first set of new TLDs were released, but things have been getting better. You may still find the occasional website that does naive email validation like I've just described.

Certain national domain extensions like .us or .de might give a boost in the US or Germany, respectively. However, besides that, I haven't seen that the extension makes a difference. However, people believe a lot of myths regarding the subject. For instance, once people thought .com, .net, and .org, even though the last one was meant for non-profit sites, were better for SEO.

Anyhow, I had a .info that ranked well, so I tend to disbelieve the myths. Oh, by the way, specific national extensions like .io, in regards to SEO, are just seen as general extensions. For instance, a .io or .co would rank well in the US.

I can't say that I've used any other extension other than the .com and co.uk before. I just don't see much point because the country specific ones are tougher to remember. If you forget a website's URL, what extension would you first try to type in the URL bar? yep, .com ;)

I haven't used the unusual extensions before. Futhermore, I have used .com which is popular for my forum which I used to own. The popular one's are .net, .com, .org etc. I see most of the sites, blogs, and forums on the internet use the recognised extensions since they are popular and recognised by lots of people on the internet.

i will not advise you to buy them chose .com .net.org if you are going to submit it at google , once i buy a .xyz after i discovred hat my domain was blocked by facebook even it's unhosted

New extensions are good but you need to find out what you need. You can't just use any random domain extension. That just does not work out. In such case find out what applies for your domain. For example, .trade and .science domain can be worth checking out. I am also getting some of those domains. And hopefully i maybe able to get some traffic. And this type of work can be surely good for niche site. So far I have not done much experimenting on this yet.

As a rule of thumb I try to either stick to .com or .co.uk (if mainly targeting UK) however you will see my blog domain is .uk which again is geolocational. In the past I have used .net or .org if I wanted a particular name, however would avoid obscure extensions as you never know if they have been abused by spammers.

domain extension, also known as a top-level domain (TLD), is the part of a domain name that comes after the "dot." For example, in the domain name "example.com," the extension or TLD is ".com."

There are many different domain extensions available, and they can be categorized into different types. Some of the most common types of domain extensions are
