Hello everyone,

Today, I just want to inform you guys that the Russian authorities have arrested a team of cyber fraudsters who in exchange for cryptocurrency, allegedly traded large volumes of fake American Dollar notes on the dark web.
More than 1 billion counterfeit Russian rubles have been marketed by the criminal network, valued approximately 13 million USD.

Thanks for Reading
But what do you guys think the affect on the crypto market will this have?

It seems a lot of havoc happens in the darkweb because I read more about bad stuff associated with this dark web. See the amount of money made from the ignorance of people

It's not havoc lol. It's just business as usual in the darknet.

What do you mean ignorance? They love money just like us. It's just business to them, no more no less.
Lol,you can call it business but in reality it havoc on people that are not aware. Yes scammers prey on people that are ignorant of the criminal activities going on in the darknet

They wrecked people lives yeah. But there's no "havoc" in the darknet itself. Furthermore, most people who got scammed can't do much to get their money back. And all of these scams are mainly operate on the internet, not darknet.

I have read a lot of criminal activities in the darknet so it happens there as well. Wreck or havoc is same thing it's just the different words you want to use. The bottom line is that people should be careful of activities online.

Naw, havoc is a widespread destruction, while wrecked is isolated and individual. Havoc is when a whole city destroyed, while wrecked is when a car crashed. There's a difference. There's not much scamming happens in the darkweb, besides the usual illegal business like buying drugs and illegal guns, since most people there are smarter and usually engage in shady activity themselves.

I think the government should ensure that business and shops should have those machine for detecting fake currency, at least it will reduce its useage

Actually there is a possibility that it exists, ever watched youtube videos about the attempts to printing money using a normal printer ?

What I don't understand is why people still go on to dark web seeing that a lot of shady and illegal activities go on there, maybe it's ignorance that lead some people there.

the dark web has its good uses as well. you only normally hear about negative or scams related to the dark web. the scammers / hackers are just playing on 1 aspect of human nature - its called greed. people want something for nothing or very cheap. it also happens on the open web, on the streets, in shops daily, etc. politicians & banks are scamming people daily, but you rarely here of this.

Well stated the scammers know that this is always the downfall of most humans so they use it to their advantage some people are just greedy and gullible and fall flat for same scam almost all the time

That's crazy. Did the criminals get caught? Seems like they are pros since you can't easily make counterfeits if you're just an amateur fraud

I doubt these ones will be easily caught because they know the implications if they get caught and must have cover their tracks well. But people can really be criminal minded

Yeah they are not amateurs seeing how they can make counterfeits and get the exchange money with it. Just too bad for the victims they probably won't be easily traced

At all and I'm sure the price the sold was very cheap to lure people faster you know people and the way of loving cheap things even when it is too good to be true

on the dark web there are a lot of places that you can buy funny money / counterfeit money. there are usd, euros, pounds & even yuan notes. you can also find safe phones, sim cards, drugs, just about anything. but you have to find a reputable market place & a reputable seller. people dont do there home work before sending there money, thats why they get scammed. scammers know this. if the scammers were good, they hide there tracks well. its not hard but it does take some time & effort to hide yourself good. the dark web can be an interesting place to find many things. but it can also be very scary. you never know what you might stumble across.

I have never liked anything from the dark web it is always suspicious to me like one is going to be scammed the next minute. But people need to desist from buying any too cheap things online it will likely be a scam

the dark web was originally invented by the US Navy, believe it or not. it is still maintained by the navy in many aspects. it was invented to allow different military's to be able to communicate in total secret. it still used for that same reason, to communicate in total secrecy. that is how most embassies, consulates, journalists, armies, big corporations, spies / spooks, etc., use to send sensitive / secret messages. if you dont know the exact web page url, you will not be able to see the page. that is 1 of the reasons that the url´s on the dark web are so long & dont make any sense. to make it virtually impossible to guess or stumble across. but sometimes people do find or stumble across things that they shouldnt. then there are 3 different levels of the dark web. the 1st 1 is the most popular & the most accessible. the other 2 are harder & more secure to access. i have never been to the lower 2 levels.
