I see that in case of upwork and fiverr clients. Many clients try to rip off the designer and the coder. They want 5000$ worth of work for 5$. And this is where the contract comes into the play. In case of design business you have to do a lot of revisions. And that means the client keeps on making you do changes. This becomes lot harder to get things done. So in such context having a contract is definitely useful. And we can then tell the client when to stop and how long to do the work for specific amount of pay.

Do you force contract on clients or keep on doing revisions in your design business for clients?

Having an agreement or a contract in place will help both the seller and buyer to draw boundaries and anyone that isn't bound by that loses. If it means forcing it on them so be it or else be ready to do an unending revision of a particular job for a very long time.

Always ask for contract. Also use official way for communication. If you are hired on Upwork, than only use Upwork for communication. If somebody break contract, you can prove it with messages from Upwork system.

I have learnt that it is way better to let clients have an idea of your terms and conditions before taking on their projects. This helps to cover you in case of clients that are not easily satisfied.
This will be especially for clients that can never be satisfied. It is better there's a contract spelling out everything to avoid any kind of confusion

There should be some kind of retention fee that will be non refundable after some sets of revision, that way a client is able to keep track of the number of revisions he asks for.

Yeah a good idea here. I believe this will be to the benefit of both parties to avoid any kind of confusion from both ends . There should be no breached too

It is good to have customer contact for communication, I think it will be good benefit the both people to avoid having any kind of confusion for the both, it is very good to have contact.

Having a contract can be beneficial for both parties, because it gives an idea of how things are without assumptions, although this is not always the best

Forcing a contract on your client is like trying to inflict into their privacy or into their will to choose the type of transaction they want, in human resources and management, you can only help your client see what you want from them by explaining and telling them the benefit behind their transaction, no body wants to be forced to do something, so relate with them by engaging their minds.

In sales and contractual agreement deed , it is beneficial for both parties to put into writing the rules of agreement in case an issue arises and dispute sets in. The written note would serve as evidence.
Yeah I agree too, without a written and signed agreement, a partnership might encounter some problems as either of the partners might be doing anyhow

That is a good way to make sure that there is an evidence of transaction in business but the limitation might be that the other partner may refuse to sign.
When a partner refuses to sign an agreement in a partnership, then the other partner better look for another because him refusing might be for a reason

Yes coming together in agreement with a contract guiding the affairs of the business is very important and it must be backed up by a legal practitioner involvement.

I think it's not best to force your work i would advise to improve your skills and have so many , so that even if one gives low reward , you could move to the next

Signing a contract is very useful for freelancing jobs. Some clients can really misuse you with revisions and so it is best to have a contract on how to go about things.

Yes, the importance of written legal agreement cannot be over emphasized in the business world but even this has limitations, the partners may have different opinions etc
Yes opinions are always not the same they are often time different because they are both different individuals with different motives in mind before starting the business. So there coming together to reach a consensus is very important.

Yeah, a consensus reached before the start of business is very important. Unlike when you wait until you have finished the job then you get into conflict with the client because your opinions are different.

Yes it's always good to see and think ahead of time because people can change and that's why involvement of a legal practitioner is very important in other to prevent people from changing their words and if the situation is getting tough the matter can be taken to court.

It is very important to have a contract with a client on how to make a design and the best thing is that the client should write a rough sheet (skeleton of the work) that will guide you on how to make the design, so there will not be much complain/revision on the design when you finish the work.

Some clients can be pretty much annoying though, I remember I did some work for someone I had to make corrections More than four times, they kept on adding things to the design. Like you said another problem is the pricing. Imagine I reduced my price for a flyer job from five thousand naira to three thousand five hundred naira. And I am also doing a promo where I give out free logo to does who pay for a flyer yet they still price it down to one thousand naira. For now I don't have a contract though.
