US trade embargo in Cuba has forced many Cubans to buy bitcoin so that they can have access to foreign goods. A Cuban Youtuber named Cruz has been teaching his followers how to buy and use bitcoin to enter the global market. Cubans are not even allowed to use debit cards and with a country that has plenty of trade barriers, bitcoin can be viable solution.

They should get rid of communism in their country first if they want to openly trade with other nations and break all existing barriers. Communism is never good for anyone.

This sounds very intense, and to be honest, this youtuber that is teaching this can very well face prosecution and even serve criminal time in jail by his actions, according to your last statement of trade barriers, as crypto is likely to work against many of these trade barriers.

There is actually no shortcut to this. The best thing is to deal with the issues that put the embargo in place first, then the global market wouldn't be a problem.

Of course this would be the best course of action, as then the purchasing of these foreign good will not be seen to be illegal or criminal acts, however, there would still be those that did it. In my opinion, would this youtuber not have exposed himself to their government?

That's some very interesting rules and regulations that ive never seen anywhere else. Most countries are restricting bicoin while this one supporting it

I don't think that the country is in support of it, i think that instead the youtuber in this country is going around the government regulations to try and support its use and teach others to make use of it. This is very dangerous in my opinion and can lead to very negative results in the future. Most countries are still against the use of crypto.

I don't know the situation but if it is as you say it then it's definitely a bad thing. People tend to trust this influencers online because they are popular

Well what if they are caught using bitcoin to buy foreign goods would there be a prosecution for it , because it won't be good if those people are penalised after the teaching

Exactly my thinking as well! In this digital age, online influencers have huge pull on the behavior of individuals in society. And to be honest, if it is illegal in their country, being such an influencer opens you up to a lot of law suits as well.

Yeah. Bitcoin is out to bridge the gap between this type of barriers. I think the YouTuber is actually doing a great work by also teaching others how to use bitcoin to trade

If i am not mistaken though i think that YouTube wanted to enforce some strict policies when it came to the publishing of crypto videos. Especially with the number of scams and all of that. not sure if their stance on that has changed with time.

It has not changed especially with the last twitter cryptocurrency scam. There was a time that cryptocurrency wanted to sue then for blocking cryptocurrency adverts .

Can they actually sue them for blocking those adverts though? As YouTube, they should be entitled to accept and advertise the ones that they feel strongly about, or that they are comfortable with. That is why they only get paid by those adverts. Isn't turning away an advert allowed?

Since he is a popular person I'm sure authorities have also heard about him. If what he's doing is illegal they should take action against him for sure

Truly they have the right to say no to any adverts that goes against their policy. This is why the cryptocurrency company doesn't go further with the case

If you put someone under too many restrictions and curb their freedom, they would find a way out if they are willing.
I think this is the best way for folks in Cuba right now.
Good point. Restrictions can often have adverse effects that they were originally planned for, and can ultimately result in a greater problem than if they had not been implemented in the first place. As we can see here by what is happening in Cuba.

This is why technology should be adopted by countries as it can be used to breach gaps created by laws or restrictions. I wonder if US will still want to restrict them from using bitcoin

This is the era of technology and it should be employed fully to help in whatever means possible. If it will help them with the restrictions then it should be used.
