With the recent announcement from the security exchange commission of Nigeria on the adoption of cryptocurrencies as security, Nigeria are on the pathway of joining the rest of the world.

The Federal government of Nigeria through Securities and Exchange Commission ( SEC) as apex regulator of the Nigeria Capital market to regulate investment and Securities business in Nigeria.
In view of this, the Commission has mandated all digital assets or cryptocurrencies or TOKEN that has Nigeria investor's should register with the Commission.

This is a signal that inksnation is accepted in Nigeria.

I think we misunderstood the news . Cryptocurrency is accepted in Nigeria but the news was on the regularisation of the cryptocurrency transaction in the country in other to ensure the safety of both citizens and the country

Thanks for the clarification. But I want to add that, when you say accepted, it means it is the means of exchange of goods and services. I can recall a friend of mine was arrested because he did a transaction buying bitcoin and on his transfer info to the seller he wrote payment for bitcoin. But with this latest development, such a thing can't happened.

It is very good that the Nigerian SEC approves transactions with cryptocurrencies. Every day more countries and corporations approve the use of cryptocurrencies for transactions. That has a huge benefit for the cryptocurrency ecosystem.

Yes oh we are very happy about it. Even the members of the Senate were also so happy for the bold step taken by sec to regularize all crypto currency company and the developer in the country. We look forward to its acceptance into the banking sector.

Well , this is true. It is quite unfortunate that the police at times takes law into their hands , prior before this law was signed there wasn't any law banning it usage thus they shouldn't have arrested your friend

When I first learnt about cryptocurrency investment, it was a Nigerian who took me through the process. The man offered me a good training and I do wonder how that could be possible .I thought crypto was with them for a longtime. There is also country regulations that regulate certain agencies so as to be rendered legal in the country. So the main thing is that crypto in Nigeria had not been made legal but right now it is legal. So it is great sites that were not accepting bitcoin payments from Nigeria will now accept.

Yeah but my only fear is that the government shouldn't follow the steps of other countries by implementing tax on cryptocurrency . I could remember that the reason why PayPal wasn't available bin Nigeria was as a result of the inability to arrive at a favourable term between Nigeria finance insutitue and paypal

That is interesting and yes we hope there will not be imposed tax but to think of it,luno and coinbase have already paved the way and we cant accept those unrealistic fees if at all they will come.

Ohh that was sad,you shouldnt have a problem linking a bank account to your verified coinbase account. That is my opinion.I was nearly linking a bank account but am still using luno that's why am relaxed.

Coinbase is not compatible to Nigerians bank account, you can only send and receive coins on coinbase,Luno is the famous compatible wallet to Nigerians. SEC didn't announced legalising Cryptos currencies in Nigeria but seeing as trend to legalise and monitor the affairs considering the level of Nigerians involvement in it.

I too use luno was surprise to hear that we can also use coinbase. I think that even after linking it , you may not be able to withdraw from it . Perhaps you may try it and give me feedback

Do you mean you have successfully linked your local bank account to coinbase and able to withdraw your money to local currency in Nigeria?

Alright I will do that, now that you have mentioned there maybe a possibility that a coinbase account may reject to link to our local banks.Luno uses the same operations like transferwise that is they separate crypto transactions to their bank accounts and they have an account for each country that is why no bank will link their transactions to bitcoins or crypto.

I guess Tron is taking the lead when it comes to smart contract, there is one that will be launch in two days , I hope to invest minimum of 100 Tron to see how to goes.

Not at all , was making response to the person that claims that link and coinbase is available for Nigerians . I know only about link that is why I was asking him of coinbase
