Very popular crypto browser Brave has forced one of their rival browsers "Braver" to change its name. Braver and Brave sound quite the same and that's why brave developers decided to force this name change. Braver browser is now renamed as Bold browser. Brave CEO also accused Braver of trying to copy them and infringing trademark policies.

Never heard of braver , but naming sense is really bad as they just added 1 letter. Tried searching either bold or braver browser and nothing is even showing in google

This is a very good move by the CEO of brave browser for accusing them of copyright and trademark infringement, it's very wrong of braver CEO to register a similar name to brave in a similar niche too,

There are already lots of "privacy protecting browser" out there like brave but they just didn't shine as because only brave has the reward feature and thus gaining more popularity than the others

Eh, so a copycat case. I'm siding with Brave browser on this case. People may confuse Brave browser with the other one just because of that one letter. A lot of phishing also employs such tactic.

Having the name 1 letter difference and functions almost same with that of a company having established reputation is how a phishing site or copycat site works. I can't even find any trace of the braver browser or bold browser from google from searching

Braver sounds new , have never heard of it . nevertheless, it is a good action from brave , as this will help them protect their company .
I also think that CEO of the new braver is not smart to have used the similar name to brave

Yeah very correct, brave browser reward feature has made it gain popularity over other privacy protecting browsers out there, that's why they made the braver browser change their name.

As long as they aren't the same, Brave has no right to sue them, even tho, Brave is a completely rip off of Google Chrome lol, so it's kinda funny to see them sueing someone for copying when they are themselves copying

The fact is in that every brand has right to complain about name infringement . Facebook won't tolerate a new social media forum with the name facebookers , because it can mislead people , who had intention for the Facebook itself .

there's a difference between 'brave' and 'facebook', 'facebook' is not a name you can find in the dictionnary, so whoever would start a social media based on that name, would be for sure get sued

Hmm. Quite logical . I get your point bro, but then if one knows that there are already a brave browser , what's the point of starting a browser with braver ? , I think the person us looking for trouble somehow .

Brave Browser was in existence before braver browser, I guess it was a strategy to lure more to download braver browser since most people may not be sensitive to name difference. It good that brave took the bold step.

That's just the fact , also braver means superiority over brave , one may see the two app , and decided to download braver browser instead of the brave browser .

Sure people will believe that braver is an upgraded version of brave Browser not knowing that there difference companies, braver now bold browser had smart marketing strategy but brave browser was hyper sensitive
