CrowdContent Reviews.jpg

CrowdContent is a content writing site for freelance writers. Normally people call these types of sites content mills because you are in a pool of writers and you need to pick and choose the assignments that you want to write. In typical content mills, it is easy for freelance writers to find assignments to complete and earn money. However, these types of sites don't have a very high pay rate that they offer a writer. In some site, you'll earn less than $3 to write a 350 to 500-word article for the site.

Many freelance writers get discouraged when writing for a content mill because the clients expect way too much from the writer for the amount of money they offer. In some content sites you'll find an article listed under the 300-word section, but when you go to read what the client wants they make it very clear if you write a 500 to 600-word article for them they will give you a good rating. Ratings on these types of site are very important so the writer will fill the order and be paid for the lower fee just to receive a higher rating from the person who requested the article. This is taking advantage of the writer and the client receives his work and pays the lower cost for what you've done.

How Does it Work?
  • It looks like anyone can join the site. Just keep in mind that a content mill will require you to have a good knowledge and a good concept of the English language and this includes grammar and spelling. Most sites like this look for English speakers to write for them. The standards on the site are quite high and if you don't have a good knowledge of the English language, you risk the chance of having your work rejected.
  • Fill out the registration form and submit this to the company. The company will send you an email if they accept your application. During the sign-up process, the company doesn't require you to take any tests or write a paper for them.
  • Once you receive the email with the link from the site you can immediately go to the site. At this time, you'll need to fill out additional information in your account.
  • Now you are free to search the site and find jobs you'd like to take.
Writing Jobs:

They have standard jobs that anyone can take and they have jobs that will require you to qualify for the section and be accepted there before you can take these jobs.

Marketplace: This section is a qualifying section on the site. You'll be required to write a 150 to 200-word article for the site. The article must be written in the Associated Press style. If you don't understand this it is a good idea to read up on this before applying. Furthermore, you'll need to have a subhead in the article. a link to a relevant article and a call to action. If you pass this test, you'll receive access to this section and become a member of the team.

Product Description: This is another area on the site that you must take a test and qualify for this section. Here you will need to answer a set of question about AP-style and write up 2 product descriptions for the company. They will review your work and either accept your application or reject it.

Reputation: Like all content, writing sites your point reputation is very important. You will need to do the best job possible for each article you write on the site. The client will be grading you on your performance and you don't want to earn a low mark because this will hurt your reputation on the site.

3-Strikes: Like all sites, if you earn 3 strikes the site will no longer allow you to write for them. You will earn these strikes if you take an assignment and don't complete this assignment. Therefore, only apply and accept work you can finish.

Pay: The company pays each week to your PayPal account for the work that has been completed. You'll need a $10 balance in your account before the company will pay you.

Has anyone ever worked for this content mill?

Did you find the work pleasing or was it a pain because of all the rejections and the demands the client made from you?

This looks like a good company. I am wondering what type of content they want. I mean like articles, or snippets or something else? It'd be interesting to see how and what type of content they want so that we can deliver. I just signed up on the site though. Hopefully get some projects.

I check this out I hope it will not be like Iwriter that pays standard writers so little and the clients keep on rejecting finished jobs and rating one low.By the way,do they use rating too?

1.2 cents per word is not bad as long as they will always pay. I hope they never reject articles because no one likes writing for free.

Getting banned is the scary part.

Payment is very good. I cannot join them though... and they are asking for too much information...
You are right, their payment is good. What kind of informations are they asking that seem too much? Even I don't like sites asking too much information from me, especially sites that I can't trust.

I am going to join this site, but need more guidence because while joining wI soon have to try what I have to do there and this must be in same hour.

Yeah good luck on getting accepted. They're kinda strict, so you better be careful with writing. They only accept a few writers' application too.

If you have more experience, then tell us about it and I will try how to counter the strictness and these days all sites are strict in matter of posting anyhting with them.

Use grammarly. Just register and then use it to check and correct the errors in your writing. Well, that alone will not suffice, you also need to write creatively.

I don't use it, many family members of mine are fluent in English, I can check with them if they agree. For Crowdcontent, it is no different if they are strict on grammar, but normal ENglish works with native English readers.

I think if you are a high quality writer then it is easier for you to get accepted on there. The pay rate seems to be good too. I will add this to my list of sites to try.

We need to know if people are paid properly, this site is legit and not going to go away soon. If good, then we can earn there and make it as alternative of postloop and forumwheel.

The company's been around for some time now. It appears that they closed up for a breif period, but can't find out what said it was personal or something like this. But since December of 2013 the company has been in business. I read a few reviews from writers there and they say they pay ever 3 days which they liked a lot. However, a few of them really complained about the editors and how they were. I guess all anyone can do is try this and see how they like it.

In this case it is worth to be checked. There are more positive reviews about crowd content, and few negative news about all sites are always there.
