If there are any forum owners, with paid to post forums here, ie. @Mr.B, how do you make profit? I was thinking about making a paid to post forum myself, would I need unlimited bandwidth and DDoS Protection?

how do you make profit?
Since the forum become very active I don't make much profit, but I have money put aside for this project and I pay my members.
If you build a posting forum make sure you have enough money to pay your members before you make any money, profit will come later when your forum is huge. This may take 2-3 years or more. Good luck!

DDOS protection is covered by your hosting provider and you don't need unlimited bandwidth, first off there is no such thing, all webhosting resources are limited, a $30/month VPS is going to handle a small forum like BMF is now. In future, you upgrade to a dedicated server.

Very good intentions and liked your honesty and patience about it Mr.B. I wish BMF be one of the top ranking forums , pretty soon and we'd be supporting you by all means to achieve this Goal.

Availability of extra funds is a most as stated by Mr. B, if not you would end up running out of cash to pay your forum members. If this would be the cash, automatically your forum would be red flaged as a scam site and you what that means.

You can get paid promos and the sponsorship posts. I have seen some forum owners making use of the ad seciton too. And then there are some of the ads being used on the sites. That also helps. Make your members to avoid using adblocker. that way you'd be in profit and the forum can sustain as well. so that being said, it's a tough job and making some of such investment is kind of hard for earning. that's something you should understand.

do you plan to take money from here to open paid to post forum for yourself?
That would not be enough, when you start you need at least couple hundreds per month to pay members alone.
Not to mention to go live you need to pay for the domain, server, for the script, addons and all these add up quickly.

I don't even think about something like similar.I know from what I have read online, that is not so easy,to have a forum. You need many things to do that. After setting all up,you have to start to advertise the forum,to start to grow the number of members on your forum.I have no experience, but I can easily imagine, how much work is needed.Well, the results an be great, but all comes after some months or even years of work(I guess...).

I just take a look at a new system of STEEM which can be deployed on forums and blogs. Here you get paid in STEEM and you don't have to pay your users. But it requires a lot of hardwork to build community. But earning steem is good idea. And however the system is yet to go live. And that can solve the problem of online communities making use of the content for revenue. and you don't have to worry about adblockers etc.

This Steem tokens can be used to pay the users on paid to post forums or blogs. So this can be answer in future. As in 2018 this may be used in many communnities.

The real answer is "not enough" ;)

However to brag a bit, here's a screenshot of how many visitors are browsing the forum right now.

BMF is real growing and is one of the most reliable forum so far amongst all the paid forum posting, I assure you Mr B that your forum is growing daily and will be active with lots of traffic like facebook soonest.

Your webhost should provide you with DDOS protection so you dont need to worry about that . I do agree that Mr.B is doing a really good job with BMF . He pays his users on time and everyone is satisfied in the end. A true example of a good business man.

Interesting insights on how one should prepare enough if they are to have a successful forum.I think it's true that one needs to have a budget aside when you want to create a paid to post forum because of the expenses that accompany it.

agree with you and only the hard work can unlock many ways and going in the finnal to the succes but people need also a good strategies

The most important thing about starting a forum of your own is whether you have enough money to sustain it until when you are going to start getting promotions. It is not going to be easy for you to be paying people very regularly and that is something that you have to take with care. If you can be able to budget up to $3000 then I think it is going to be very ok.
