Cost of living in your country?

I was wondering what are the costs of living in other countries every month.

Me first ;)

Well, I live in Romania, in the country side, I'm around 30 km close to the town.
So I live with my girlfriend in my parents house, parents are in Spain working to pay for my 2 sisters school(they rent an apartment in town and they spend 500 euros every month for food and rent).

I'm with my girlfriend for almost a year by now and our living cost is 500 euros/month to pay all the food, we buy anything we want to eat, when buying I never look to the price to be frank, the electricity bill since my pc is open 12h/day is 25 euros per month, and water is around 10 euros, but there's other families with 5-7 members living with 100-200 euros per month, I know how is to have so few money, at that time(10 years ago when I was a kid)I ate only fries potatoes and eggs because we have chickens but rarely sacrifice one to eat meat and mix of these and that's how I grow up:(, so now I consider our life victual and thank God for that.

What are the costs of living in your country? Is cheaper, is more expensive? Just curious! :)

In the United States where I live, it is about $550 to $750 a month on average for apartments here with 1 bedroom and 2 bedroom living units. Studios are slightly less. Some condos and houses can be from $1000 to $2000 a month depending on where you live, how many square feet, and other factors. The nicer the neighborhood and more quiet it is, the more it costs along with space and features.

Utilities are on average about $150 to $180, give or take any extras like internet service which is usually $45 to $65 a month. Grocery store shopping has become much more expensive because prices keep going up. Unlike Romania, we are forced to shop and eat dangerous GMO food even though the prices are high, so it's hard to shop unless you are ok to buy and eayt anything (many are not) and get junk or dangerous products without people knowing what is in them. I've been both poor and rich while living here, even though I've lived aborad and different places in the world before. There are ways to make money, but the inflation and saturation from other countries trying to come over the border is brining down much of the quality of living and advantages that people would come here for. There is still some good, but work is less than it ever was before in availability to the public, so many people are turning to working from home or trying to be their own boss in creative ways to make ends meet. The response of most stores and corporations is to keep raising prices on people even when they cannot afford it.

Also I have noticed that when you have more money, people treat you better. When I was poor, people did not treat me well at all. When I was able to save and build up money, people treated me better. And they were the same people who were not nice to me when I was poor, but they see my nice clothes and treat me more respectfully. It's sad, but that's how it works.

So a hidden cost of living here is often to have a nice car, nice house, and nice clothes so that people will treat you better and with more respect, and you are able to get better opportunities and jobs based on how people see you. Image is still very important.

The only cost of living that has become cheaper is gas because of oil in the middle east, but I'm not sure how long that will last.

I live with my parents at the moment and I have to say, we need at least 600 Euro to get through the month. In winter, especially, we need to buy logs to heat up our house. We struggle most in winter and have problems throughout the year.

My parents are great and work their asses off for me and my three little brothers. One of my first dreams was to get out of here, get a good paying job in programming and make them don't have any more money issues. This dream I will keep and try my best to make them happy as they made me and my brothers happy!

I live in the UK, Manchester to be exact in the north west so it's nowhere near as expensive as living in London.

My rent and utilities come to around £800 a month. That equates to around €1015 or $1109 if that makes it easier to work out?

Over here it really depends on what part of the country you are talking about. It really varies when you get down to all the factors that are at play, and you can find places where you can live cheap and then you can go upscale and spend as much as you could imagine for a month of living. I do know that the costs are certainly going up, and that is something that I do not think will change anytime soon, unfortunately.

I live in Brazil, but I'm going to put values in dollars. The minimum wage here is 200$ a month. My rent, including all bills is around 225$, but I live with a roommate, so it's 50/50. To eat I spend about 5$ a day, so 150$ a month. Every time I need to catch a bus I spend a dollar, 60$ a month. In the end, my cost of living here is around 325$, with extra expenses it could reach 400$ or so. But I live in a place where rent is a bit expensive, I mean, it is not the most expensive, but from the city I came from, the rent is twice the average price. I go to a public university here, so I don't have any expenses when it comes about studying, unless I need to buy books.

What country you live in buddy and what's your living cost?

I live in the US and where I am in Ky the cost of living is not terribly bad. We have 3 people and two dogs in our household. Normally our total for utilities, food and gas is around $1200 a month. But, we also do not have rent or a house payment so I am sure that makes a huge difference.

What Ky means? Thanks for sharing your living cost with us.

I live in Perth Western Australia and we have a reputation for being one of the most expensive cities in Australia. The average midian monthly rent for a house is $1680, and for apartments it is $1580.

Food, utilities, insurance and land rates, in our household average $2000 per month. Our mortgage, which only has 1 year to go, I'd like to keep private.

Still loads of people want to come to Perth to live. Some say it's because of the laid back culture, this may be true but we pay for it :(

I cannot say that in my country there is a decent life for people, sometimes the prices of some goods are simply absurd, but if you work and strive for the best, you can live not badly.

In our country, there is a very bad standard of living and low wages, so working on the Internet helps me a lot, as I earn more
