What is CopyLeaks?
Copyleaks is a plagiarism checker tool, duplicate checker tool, file comparison tool, and many more additional functionalities to come. It's my best and an excellent tool to check for duplicate articles or reviews around the internet. You need to deliver high-quality, flawless reports every time in my situation.
Company Behind
The company behind is CopyLeaks and is physically located with an office at 700 Canal St. Stamford, CT 06902, USA.
Technical Specifications
They got their domain name registered in May 2012 from Godaddy, LLC and uses GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) and protected from DDOS (Denial Of Services) attacks because of Cloud Flare, Inc. Most probably they got their own dedicated server since this is an online software with trade secrets and uses lots of databases to connect to check for plagiarism. They consider 1 page as 250 words and will cost you 1 credit to scan for plagiarism. So if you got a 1,000-word page or document, it will cost you 4 credits, for example. You can scan for uniqueness documents like uploaded documents, url or free text which means you can directly type it into their text editor for real-time checks but be careful it may cost you multiple credits. What I do is type and finish my documents on notepad++, check for spelling and grammar using grammarly and the final check is using this plagiarism checker tool.
Making Money
They have a built-in referral system but it will not allow you to earn money directly but by referring up until 5 people, they will give you in return to scan like for 100 credits.
For a starter, plagiarism is not a crime but is punishable by court of law since you committed sort of copyright infringements, moral rights violation, and/or torts (a civil wrong offense resulting in legal liability that causes claimant to suffer loss or harm) So using this tool will save you a lot of legal offense fees to pay and save you valuable time in appearing before courts answering for copies that you have plagiarized. So we can safely say it will not make you money directly but in the long run, will save you lots of time and money because you will not commit an offense punishable by the law and will save your good reputation intact.
My Status With Them:
I bought some credits like 100 credits which entitled me to check or scan for 100% uniqueness for 25 pages something. It cost me about U.S.$10.99 for 100 credits, currently a prepaid status with them. The credits purchased will expire within a year. It will even show you the web address where that specific word has been used already.
PROS and CONS:
PROS:
- Being a new user, it's free and will save you time and court fees.
CONS:
- Nothing at the time of this review.
If you write a lot of articles and blogs then you need this tool or else to be answerable and liable to court because of committing a tortious act. In academics and in online business, plagiarism is considered a serious ethical offense not to mention removal from the index of Google since it's a duplicate copy. Repetition of the offense will cause Google to ban you from being listed in raw searches. I can say this based on my experience. Another is Adsense will not approve your account if it found it to be a plagiarized blog or website.
