The SEC has made no secret about their stance on cryptocurrency and how they are not in complete support of the currency due to teh risks that are involved. The new chairman of the SEC who is Gary Gensler has said that he is looking forward to working with Congress in an effort to try and regulate the trade of these coins on their exchanges. This is aimed to help at protecting investors but could also be a platform to try and regulate the crypto market as a whole as well.
