❓ASK Comparison between countries' minimum monthly wage

B

Let me start with myself, in my region the minimum amount of monthly living wage is about 200 USD. What about yours?

Just for the curiosity sake since BMF members come from all over the world, I think to myself "why not ask this kind of question?". I want to know more about countries all around the world and its economies.

In Brazil, it's around 200 dollars too. It's pretty bad...
That is the unfortunate situation in many countries and these days with the global economy not doing to well, those wages lack any value whatsoever.

Exactly... 200 dollars around here isn't enough to live :(
Maybe it could have sufficed in a country where the system works and the climate is sane but here, that is not the case at all especially for a person with family and other responsibilities.

Yeah it's really not easy where you have families to take care of and your self to feed , the money won't be enough to settle those things i think

I understand what you mean its really not easy to have family and still saved some money from your monthly wages mostly when you have a large family, but sometime I will advice if you have not satisfy with the salary structure of the establishment you are working with its adviceable to change the firm or better look for money and invest it is not too good to stay without saving, some countries minimum wages dont just worth it thats why I do business.

Yeah anytime someone earn money from the site its best for him to invest , because the person could go broke , if he tries not to invest something that would give him interest ,and most times the salary takes time before been paid

While I agree with you, (and myself I 'do business' rather than have a job), the problem with being self-employed is it is generally more unstable. With a job you will (probably) earn the same amount of money each month and can make plans, when you are self employed you never know how much you will earn!

The $70 - $100 might not be perfectly okay for them only because of the cost of living in most rural areas are increasing on a daily

My guess is it would depend on the size of the family and how many working people there are. And this would be true in all countries and areas.
If you are a young couple, both working, no kids, then obviously you can manage on a far, far, lower income than someone with a family to support. Where I live a young person can live on (just) $300 a month, but the idea of supporting a family on that income is just impossible.

In my country, I think that the minimum monthly wage ranges from $100-$200. That is enough for an average citizen to pay bills and other expenses.

As a single person? Or as a family/group? Where I live the biggest problem people face is often housing, a single person just cannot often afford housing on a low income, but a couple can manage.

You are right about this and that is why I prefer jobs with flexible hours that will still give room for me to run a business even a small one on the side.

When you have a small business you could even pick when to open the business ,and when not to open the business, the benefits are way too much

Yes, it is in fact an excellent idea. You then have the best of both worlds, a stable income from the 'normal' job and still the chance to run a business yourself.
Although, even with the unstability I have always still preferred to work for myself, I've never had a "proper" job, and hope that I never will!

Having a proper and stable job would be better. Just be more optimistic in your plan and mission on getting a better job that can sort your bills

I do disgaree. Overall I've earned fine from my business, (probably on average the same or perhaps a little more than if I had a 'normal' job), but I have also had stress and worry when times were bad. But I have also had a varried and interesting life, every day is different, and for me that is the most important thing - I would hate to have a 9-5 job where each day is the same .... money isn't everything :)

No matter where you live, i think it is all about money management
Wether you live in third world country or develope country or even in first tier country, if you failed to manage your financial plan, well it is only a matter of time before its all collapse and you live in suffer.

I understand how you feel and i think you actually needs to readjust your plans and see the next thing that would follow or you find another job
