❓ASK Comparison between countries' minimum monthly wage

Let me start with myself, in my region the minimum amount of monthly living wage is about 200 USD. What about yours?

Just for the curiosity sake since BMF members come from all over the world, I think to myself "why not ask this kind of question?". I want to know more about countries all around the world and its economies.

Now that is terrible. There is no way that the rent for a single room should take 1/3 of your wages - but sadly, I think that is true in a great many cities around the world - even cities like London and New York I think that this might be roughly the same - the wages are far higher, but the rent is also far higher, 700-800 pounds a month is what you may pay for renting a single room in London...
So now, you get my depression when minimum wage conversations are being held. Can $30 run a single person for a month? My friend is married with two kids and he is being paid $35. I just think that we are doomed down here.

I agree, of course. It is a terrible position to be in. It is ridiculous what people are expected to live on. One of the biggest problems where I live is not wages, but rent. Private landlords are so greedy, expecting to take huge rents and leave people with almost nothing - if housing were fixed and people could live at a reasonable cost then a lot of people would benefit.

My friend, let's be logical. The landlords live and operate in the same economy that is very tough for the tenant. How is a landlord expected to survive if he charges low for his investment?

The cost of maintaining a house has also risen like other costs. The landlords have to charge what would be enough for them to use and maintain the house .

When it comes to minimum monthly wage, there is a lot of variation between countries. For example, in the United States, the federal minimum wage is $7.25 per hour, while in Australia, the minimum wage is $18.93 per hour.

i think is true that there is a significant variation in minimum wage rates across different countries. This can be attributed to a number of factors, such as the cost of living, economic policies, and labor market conditions
