Coinomi Reviews.jpg

Coinomi is a digital cryptocurrency wallet which is used for securely storing, managing and transacting multiple cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin, Ethereum etc all at once. Coinomi started it live back in 2014 and currently support over 500 digital currencies.

Currently, coinomi is available for Android and iOS with desktop versions coming soon.

Pros:
1. Security First: When it comes to security, coinomi is one of the most secure wallet available for mobile. All user credentials are securely stored on user's device and users can easily lock their wallet using either password or pattern lock.
2. Support All Major Cryptocurrency: Coinomi Support a very large collection of cryptocurrency and ERC20 tokens with more been added on timely bases. Users can also add unsupported ERC20 token manually to the wallet.
3. Built In Exchange Support: Coinomi currently support shapeshift and changelly exchange built in, which enable users to easily exchange their coins/token directly in the app.
4. Multiple Exchange Rate Support: You can basically setup the wallet to display prices in your local currency, with over 150 currencies currently supported.
5. Clean Interface: The app is very clean and responsive. Comes with light and dark theme to suit your need.
6. Ability To Set Default Transaction Fee: This is something that is missing from other wallet i have used.
7. Active Support: The Coinomi team are very active on their social media platforms and are willing to help users with issues.

Cons:
1. Not A Newbie Wallet: While a beginner can easily use this wallet without issues, some newbies have problem cause unlike some other wallets, tokens and coins are two clearly separated entities in the wallet and a newbie who doesn't know the difference might end up being confused. Personally, i had a hard time explaining to a newbie on how to add Avinoc token.
2. Not Easy To Migrate: A novice might really find it difficult to migrate his/her wallet to another app cause wallet private key have to be manually generated by a users. This might be due to security reasons but in my own opinion, this can be simplified.
3. Does not support running multiple wallet simultaneously.

Without any doubt, coinomi is a one of the most secure wallet but if as a newbie you find it difficult to use, i suggest trying other wallet like IMToken, Trust etc which are quite easy to use.
What I really also love about coinomi is their Airdrops and giveaways. They usually partner with new supported coin/token and giveaway a certain amount of the coin/token to lucky winners. To participate in their giveaways just follow them on thier social platform to get notified.

What's your experience with this crypto wallet? share it

I am a newbie of using coinomi wallet ! Anyone has experience with coinomi can tell if identity verification needed to exchange coins or trade coins or withdraw coins ? (especially BTC)

And can anyone explain more on shapeshift and changelly ? Also any verification needed ? thx

No. Coinomi collects zero information about you and you are the only one responsible for taking care of your funds. Shapeshift and Changelly are third party exchanges that are not directly affiliated with Coinomi, and I'm certain that shapeshift now requires KYC. It's better to use Binance instead. No identity verification is needed unless you're trading enormous amounts.

Coinomi is the best wallet for me because it has almost all the cryptocurrencies that any wallet can have , not in the case of other wallets that supports only major cryptocurrencies .Coinomi is available in playstore to install and can be installed in pc or phone. I am using it till now and never faced any problems. There is good security , no one can access your wallet , you need to note down and type the confirmation phase when you reinstall the app that you were given when registered.

I have nothing against Coinomi but the matter that I have encountered one you lose your Passphrase you will not recover your funds anymore. We couldn't avoid negligence in our behalf. Not all the time we can remember all our information where we stored it.I have lost access to my coinomi wallet before because for a busy woman like me doing all stuff in my office and things beyond my table I really neglected where I put my Passphrase that time. The fault is mine and I admit it.But if this wallet has another option to recover your account specially if you still have your password you can still have your assets in you.Lesson learned.Do not be so lazy.Thats it!

I use coinomi wallet too . First I type those words in power point presentation and then save it , then send it to my friend's email so I can access it anytime just by searching it in email , and even i click the photo of those words and move it to google drive so that I can always have an access to those words.

I'm using Coinomi too. But like many other wallets, it has its pros and cons.

When registering, they will tell you to write your passphrase somewhere you won't forget it or else you won't be able to access your account. They make it sound like it's so vital that users will be paranoid and make copies of that in multiple places. It seems risky for me instead of making my account secured, don't you think?

But I really like that they support so many cryptocurrencies. I never find it hard to look for the currency that I'm looking for. That's why I like using this wallet.

Yeah , those words are not necessary . Instead they can send the confirmation email to login to the app wallet , just like blockchain or coinbase do.

You know buddy I'm a curious cat and a lazy wolf. Its the reason why coinomi is not a good cryto wallet for me I have learned my lesson after I lost some of my asset using this wallet.Im not blaming them because I admit it's all my fault.

Then your other option is a web wallet service which is responsible for keeping your assets safe like a bank. I do not recommend this as they can freeze your funds whenever they want, and they are also vulnerable to hacking. Just keep your passphrase safe and try to memorize it.

Coinomi is better than web wallets like coinbase because coinomi has almost all the altcoins and bitcoin , and even some tokens . And you are right that web wallets can't be trusted , as coinbase suddenly went offline for few minutes some days back .

Web wallets also collect your personal information and this is against the fundamental ideology of cryptocurrency, which is to create an anonymous payment protocol.

But that's not mandatory . If you want to swap inside the wallet , then the account should be verified with KYC . For swapping , there are many exchangers out as well.

I agreed with all you said in this thread.
Your coins, your wallet, your responsibility.
It sucks that some people lose funds because they lost the keyphrase but Coinomi keeps pushing to write it down and store it somewhere safe.
I personally like the fact that its 100% on the user because it means we are in total control of the funds and dont have to depend on the wallet provider to move funds around.
I think people just take the passphrase set up too lightly and think someone can recover it for them in case they lose it.
Email and other mediums are just another way for hackers to get into an account so im glad there is no way to recover funds by email or by text.

Actually I do use Coinbase too.Like what you said Coinomi has lots of crypto coins to choose from but Coinbase is not like Coinomi.Dont get me wrong I admit that I'm new to this business and I'm still learning. But if I were to choose between the two I will absolutely choose Coinbase.

Yeah , be careful next time. If you are a lazy wolf , I think coinomi is not good for you as you have already lost some funds due to that phrase words.

One of the great android app wallet that I use because it supports all the coins that coinbase and blockchain doesn't have. But do remember the recovery phrase words before deleting the appfor any reason.

Hi,

I had 200 dogecoins in my coinomi wallet, which I tried sending to my coinpot wallet on the 21st of this month.

Coinomi said they would charge me 1 doge as fees and have apparently transferred the remaining 199 dogecoins. The status says - Confirmed... but I haven't received the coins in my Coinpot doge wallet till date!

Coinomi has an FAQ that says this transaction can be viewed on blockchain explorer. And there it says Confirmed too. This FAQ also says that once the transaction has been confirmed on Blockchain, Coinomi has done its job!!

I'm wondering if any of you can help me understand what I should do next or whether my dogecoins are gone for good...

Thanks in advance..

Have you received your dogecoins yet? Have you waited a long time? Maybe you have to wait a little longer??
All my transactions using Coinomi so far have been successful so I don't know how to help, sorry.
Let us know if you have had any luck.
