Coinbase is one of the world's biggest digital currency wallet/exchange that support storing, transacting and trading of cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin etc. It one of the oldest begineer entry cryptocurrency exchange which support buying and selling of cryptocurrency directly with a connected Bank account or other payment methods.
Coinbase is a San Francisco based exchange and was founded in 2012 by Brian Armstrong and Fred Etrsam as part of Ycombinator. Coinbase started as Bitcoin Broker, selling Bitcoin directly to customers but over the years has added alot of services along the way making it one of the most reliable crypto exchange out there.
Coinbase currently has over 20 million users from all around the world with over $150 Billion worth of cryptocurrencies traded. Also Coinbase was able to raise $217 million from world leading investors like Ycombinator, Andreessen Horowitz, USV, USAA and more making it one of the most reputable crypto exchange with lots of external backing.

Coinbase support trading of BTC, ETH, LTC, BCH, ETC and more. Users can deposit using either Wire Transfer or Debit/Credit card.

It is important to note that Coinbase is a fully licensed and regulated KYC/AML complaint exchange, you are required to undergo identity verification before you can make use of it service.
Currently Coinbase support and fully operate in 32 different countries across Asia, Europe, North America and Australia.

Pros:
1. Begineer Friendly: This is one point where Coinbase really shines, it's is one of the most recommended beginner entry cryptocurrency wallet/exchange cause one does not need to know how to trade to buy and sell cryptocurrency on the platform using ones bank account. Coinbase is mostly regarded as one of the best exchange for beginners to trade Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies, It interface is very clean, Intuitive and easy to navigate.
Coinbase also provides a mobile app available for both Android and iOS.
2. Reputation: Coinbase is one of the oldest reliable exchange out there with millions of users and it backed by reputable organizations. Coinbase is also one of the few cryptocurrency exchange that is protected by insurance.
3. Security: Coinbase takes careful security measures to ensure optimal security of users funds. According to it website, about 98% of customer funds are stored in offline storage and distributed in safe deposit boxes in different geographical location all around the world.
Two factor authentication (2FA) is also available for adding extra layer of security to user accounts.
4. Merchant API: Coinbase provides a well documented API allowing online merchant to accept cryptocurrency on their website.

Cons:
1. It Not Available Globally: Coinbase is only available in a very limited amount of countries which spread across few continent.

Based on my research, Coinbase is a legit exchange, the only major disadvantage is that it's not available in most countries. If your country is also not supported, i recommeded you to checkout Luno which is quite similar to Coinbase but support a larger number of countries.

The SEC has held Coinbase guilty of internal trading of unregistered securities, but Coinbase has pushed for new securities regulations, citing outdated legislation. It seems that Coinbase is ready to settle with the SEC to accept crypto as securities.

Actually I am not withdrawing from any platform, this time is so bear that I have to keep whatever is there, but I don't have anything in coinbase. Only an empty account.
But I don't know if people are complaining about any issue, can you please screenshot the source?

People's attitude towards Coinbase is changing, no matter what the company say, people come up with many direct complains on its posts like cancellation of withdrawals of various cryptos, not allowing trading as desired or not buying coins as desired. Coinbase is having though competition with Binance and FTX.

Bitcoin is being auctioned in USD on Coinbase, it is named BTCAUCTION-USD. This auction is being conducted by Coinbase with the aim of finding a value different from the current market price of bitcoin.
The BTCAUCTION-USD auction process on Coinbase will take place from 4pm to 4:15pm ET (15 minutes) The auction can be accessed through the interface, but will only be accessible to Coinbase Exchange or Pro users. Price will update as per supply/demand.​

Another update is, now SEC has launched investigation of Coinbase 's staking program, and this is bringing more debates.
Coinbase was very eager to get itself licensed as a company, now it have to deal with such regulations which cannot be supported in current time, especially with crypto.

Earlier on, I have also received rewards for quizzes on Coinbase but I am uncertain if such still takes place on Coinbase. However, Binance has taken its 'Learn and earn' quite serious and you can check that out if you are interested in earning a little thing on the side while brushing up your knowledge on some tokens.

Coinbase will not oppose the Ethereum merge, instead it will launch its own token and staking program prior to the merge. This ERC20 token built on the Ethereum network is announced as "cbETH" by Coinbase. It is not meant to be sent to another network.

Coinbase Update its App

Coinbase CEO Brain Armstrong has announced that from now on Coinbase will support its 103 million verified users in political topics, for example US users will be able to check the crypto sentiments of members of Congress, local town hall events, etc.
CZ, the CEO of Coinbase's rival Binance, has also considered this as a good way to promote crypto.

Coinbase has been around for a very long time. It was even popular than binance and others then. I remember it was my first serious crypto wallet then and I used it to receive my first crypto payment from beermoney forum and one other forum that's instinct. Love their wallet interface then and fees were free then. However, they had an issue which persists till today and that hindered their growth. They weren't open to everyone. They restricted their services to certain locations. People had to switch to their major competitor binance who accepted everyone.

Coinbase is using the strategy of expansion for NEAR in its learning rewards. 13 languages of the world have been selected for the NEAR reward. By doing this an attempt has been made to simplify it for non-English linguistic groups. There is a possibility that more languages will be added to all learning rewards in the future.
