Why learning about domain extension. I came across the following domain extension; .net , .io. , .com
I prefer .net to all of them but am new into web hosting and domain thus I don't have good experience on the best one to go for .
Which of them do you suggest and why ?

Here's the following major domain names available out there for you to register, only limited by your imagination and creativity.
.COM - for all commercial websites, offline and online companies, could be the name of your company itself, you or your products.
.NET - as back up domain usually good for isp or wpp - internet service providers and web presence provider, or dealing with networks or servers
.ORG - mainly for organizations or non- government education.

now there are various domains available if your name is not available on those major extensions.
i should know im a wpp - web presence provider.

Thank you very much for this detailed explanation on the two domain extensions. I really appreciate. I will see if my name will be available because what I want the domain for does not fit in with .com or .net

may i recommend a free domain name checker in all domain extensions. try it but being said it's free, its also public, some people can have results on it emailed to them so at the first available domain as .COM register it at once so no people will register it ahead of you, like in real business you need to have unique name and first-register, first-served.

.com is for businesses but nowadays due to domain squatters entering the scene, they won't get their names but if their names are trademarked and they are they can send cease and desist email to the domain and squatter via aid of lawyer and the domain squatter will just allow the domain to expire.
I think [dot] com domain extension is the best. But It is also depends on business name.

Sometimes it doesn't depend what is the extension, if the extension is a part of your idea.
.com and .net domains are universal, however, if you are concentrating to one country, you should get its TLD. If you see that your domain is purchased by someone else, but not used - try searching, maybe that person would like to sell it to you.

I like to visit site with the .com extension and I know a lot of other people do too. It seems that extension is more trusted. So you are going with the .com extension if you need to start a blog and you need a unique domain name and it's domain extension

I guess you should think about your target audience and where they are located. If you're targeting a global audience, you may want to consider a generic top-level domain such as .com or .net.

For a new website, .com is a versatile choice, widely accepted for various purposes. If you aim for a tech-oriented image, .io is a suitable option often used by tech startups. .net is also a good choice, known for networking and technology, but it's widely versatile too.
