Canada's Finance Minister named a new governor for Bank of Canada by replacing bitcoin critic Stephen Poloz. While Poloz was in power, he repeatedly said that cryptocurrencies had no future and that people would still use fiat money. He even loved talking about stablecoins like Libra saying that they are more reliable. Nevertheless, he is gone now and I hope the new governor has a positive stance towards crypto.

It is good to listen to critics in order to have access their own views, they most times makes sense with facts, the new governor may share his opinion if study crypto currency extensively, he may also have a different view, it all depends on the trend of crypto currency to reality.

Being part of the financial institution, I would have expected a lesser show of disdain for another financial tool even if you do not approve of it. Anyways, his time has ended and the replacement my have a better view concerning Cryptocurrencies.

I think the new governor considering the current trend of Bitcoin and the rate at which other countries are utilizing Bitcoin will consider adopting Bitcoin

Not really . I think he has stayed enough for his tenure or perhaps there is a better reason for that . It has nothing to do with his view on Bitcoin for if is the case , he should have been removed earlier

How I wish it can be widely adopted in my country too, it was just passed into law that it is legal about months ago though it was not disclaim as illegal but people sometimes see those who uses it as fraudster.
And the knowledge about it is being hinder by the reputation given to it by average citizen.
It will be okay here too.
Just hope our government also accept it as means of payment

Yeah am from Nigeria , The giant of Africa, there's a actually some protest going which stopped a week ago.
So people want the government to adopt it but most of the officials are corrupt, they can loot the national currency but they can't loot the crypto currency like that because they know it will be traced.

Am from Nigeria too . Is glad that you are here . I believe if cryptocurrency is fully legalized in our country . It might make our politicians to see the need of hiding their stolen money in cryptocurrency

It's rather difficult to believe that crypto currency doesn't have a future because many have benefited from it. I hope Nigeria would see it from the positive point of view though.
