Many of us knows that chain networks are also susceptible to hacking though sure hackers will have a hard time hacking into the network, but what if hackers could create a virus to slowly damage the network without us even realizing it, Is it even possible?

A virus is highly unlikely becasue you had to infect every node or the majority of nodes, which seems to be hard. If every node runs on same software, same os, same hardware, chances are increasing since this makes it easier to find a broad attack vector.

I think there are other ways how to take over a network, but most of them are existing only on paper and many chains build in some sort of resilience.

I guess so too , as the blockchain have multiple number of copies of every transactions the virus have to find them all and infect them all to change a transaction seems hard enough task

Crypto market is based on crypto codings, so it is highly unlikely that any virus can hack the server. Though it is still to be verified if any state-of-the-art virus can impact the server or not.

I think one certain time a coin called cover have once been hacked ,and the coin had huge drop in price , but I don't think this can happen to top coins like Bitcoin , ethereum ,etc

Judging by the present strength of the blockchain network , I will say that such thing may not be feasible easily but that doesn't mean that it can be possible

Because you had to infect every node or the majority of nodes, which appears to be difficult, a virus is highly unlikely. If every node has the same software, operating system, and hardware, the odds of a successful assault increase since it is easier to locate a broad attack vector.
at this time I don't think any virus is that much capable to be able to affect the crypto chain. But in future, if any such virus is generated which can particularly effect the change then it is very much possible to affect every nodes.

Thanks I could say it better…
Also it should be a goal for the virus. Just to attack and destroy? Or overtake the assets? Change the direction or dev road map
Virus creators do design their software with purpose. This needs to be base setting in a mind game

Yep it will be very very hard for the virus to infect every of the node in the system considering that there are also thousands or even millions of miners out there protecting the network

You can certainly effect to destroy completely that has to be either by the developer of a high Lev or else to function this best to be true

We all know that any network can be attacked. I think Blockchain network maybe immune or not immune. To attack it, is not impossible but very difficult because you have to launch an attack on every node of it.

A virus can trully affect and destroy the blockchain but for it to do that the virus must have equal or more power combined against all of the miners protecting and running the network

I think Blockchain is connected with many connection and when a virus come it destroy all network and damage all chain of network.
The network of the decentralized blockchain is communicating defined information but no executable code. As long as you can't move malicious code from one node to another it's just not working

Virus are created by anti virus companies, these virus effects operating system, virus cannot harm blockchain, because it is mathematics, but quantum, I cannot say.

I am also hoping that the programing languange used in the blockchain network is not all that easy to break or infect with viruses because of the repeated nodes or mathematical calculations that all have to be altered or disturbed if you are to hack the blockchain. So for now there technology to attack the blockchain may not yet be public,

I don't think so. And yet, I'm no expert when it comes to stuff like this, so I am not 100 percent sure. Viruses can still swap your wallet address with the scammer address or hack into your account, so always use strong password and 2fa for added security folks. And don't use suspicious websites and platforms.

Yes is possible
I accept this

The blockchain technology can defend many types of malicious attacks or viruses but that doesn't mean it's totally immune to all of them. It's certainly difficult but not impossible even though a number of users are constantly reviewing the block chain still every now and then smart hackers are able to launch an attack. Some of the common attacks that can be launched on a blockchain are known as finney attack, race attack, 51% attack, eclipse attack, Sybil attack, DDoS, routing attack and DAO attack
