Hackers have targeted St. Gheorghe Recovery Hospital in Botosani, Romania in a ransomware attack, demanding a ransom in bitcoin.

Last year, India's largest government hospital in Delhi was also targeted, the administration of hospitals around the world had learned from this and started arrangements to deal with such crisis, but many hospitals have missed. Greedy and crafty hackers target those most in need.

That is so unfortunate that a hospital that helps people in need is attacked by those greedy hackers. Then they use Bitcoin to demand ransom. That tarnishes the reputation of crypto currencies a lot.

That ternish everything, hospital authorities should have updated security after Indian Hospital was attacked in December. It could even be the work of any corrupt, who knows the weakness, people hardly take responsibility.

these hackers are really shameless wanting to suck off hospitals as well.. they never know it can be them that needs that hospital's help in the future. They have no morals or whatsoever really. wouldn't be surprised if they target charities next

This is the truth, man. It seems that terrorists or Dalit organisations are behind this, because they do not even spare the disabled but play their own victim card. If those in power are truly concerned about the sick and disabled, they will take steps to ensure their safety.

i hope they do because this is very worrying that even a place that is necessary for everyone to be safe is being attacked they should do whatever they can to know who's behind this and make them stop for good. there's plenty of other organizations or places to target and they choose hospitals man they seriously have a problem with their humanity

Authorities did not informed what happened?
Did they paid hackers? Did they got control back? Whatever. Same is with other hospitals, they do not inform. Most of crypto enthuses thinks its a bad idea to inform unless they take control back.

It's quiet unfortunate that the hospital were attacked just to get information about patients. I'm still of the opinion that bitcoin address should be modify in order to track the recipient of the bitcoin, since he is making use of an exchange to receive the bitcoin.

Targeting patient data is very bad. These hackers are heartless. Hacking medical records of patients just to extort money is bad. Using Bitcoin makes it difficult to trace. Wish there's a strong identity system in crypto.
