Hi guys!

I just launched this forum and already got couple interested buyers, one particularly offer attracted my attention, offering me $10,000 to close the deal by the end of this day.

This forum is new and the real value now is in the domain name, which already ranks for main keyword "beer money forum".

What would you do if you were me?

That's an awful lot of beer money! If its a legit offer, I wouldn't be surprised if you took it.

However, that is a big if, and the fact they are putting such a strict timelimit on it would make me wary. It would be very easy for you to transfer all the details and then have them cancel the cheque/dispute the payment or otherwise claw back the funds. If they have put the cleared funds in escrow, where they cannot be clawed back, it might be safer. Unless you know the buyer personally be careful, and even then I've heard some horror stories of sites sold through flippa where the site owner was left with nothing.

What I don't know is how much you think you can raise in ad revenue, etc. and how that compares with their offer. Would you be staying on as the moderator/owner or would they simply close the forum and launch a new site?

If I were you, I'd be doing my due dilligence to check the buyer's authenticity, find out what they want to do, and if it is close the forum and set up an entirely new site, then make the sale and set up a new forum elsewhere. Notify everyone where to move to (possibly pull down a posts backup to move across if the buyer gives permission.) That way you have the community and the funds.

When I first read your post I have to admit I was more than a little suspicious! The main reason being that is if BMF was my site and somebody offered me $10,000 for it, I wouldn't be asking the members what to do!

In fact, you'd never hear from me again as I walked off into the sunset with my $10,000 in my back pocket, haha!

It is over a year now and the site is alive and kicking. If there was an award for the best Ad ever this would be it.

Congrats on completing one year. You have a long way to go.

even if the offer is real, and you wish to do it, use an escrow . But i wouldn't sell it because if someone offers money means he see a potential in it in the future so why not link to him the scrypt to buy and to make his own forum if he wants. Also if someone offers money to a website right in the beginning stage with few topics it could mean that he wants to destroy it, to delete some annoying topics maybe a topic related a website declared SCAM in order to clear it's image.
But don't do it, there are new members here who trust you and the idea that you want to build a strong community and by selling it the people will be afraid of not getting banned or get deleted their posting work .
You can create a new forum ,improve it, then selling it for money , without accounts on it so no members won't be disappointed.

yes i saw it when i got into this topic but first when i saw the random article in the new rotator on the homepage , .. i got scared :oops::Cry: and i thought i worked and wasted time for nothing o_O
Maybe this topic should be deleted so won't scare other members or possible new members  or moved in archive and maybe rotator won't display archived topics

I just saw this! I didn't know this forum has started since last year. Glad that it was an old post and it was not real too. When I was clicking on the link, I was thinking if it's good for you, perhaps it's good to sell it, but I prefer you are the owner. :D

Good that it's just a joke!

I would save the domain until several years later, until it gets good traffic and then sell for more. By that time the price for this domain would have build up.

Sorry if I am late. When I saw the headline, I thought it is really for sale and things roam through my mind thinking of refraining posting on this site. But when I saw the date, it is April 1, and I expected it is April Fools. It was confirmed when I saw the comments. Lol!

LOL i just read it was not for sale and look at me i was trying to check my bank balance to buy it LOL. :Roflmao:
I know it was just a joke and you wanted to check the reaction of other members only

I thought this is a serious conversation! After reading the comments, I found out that It was not for sale.;) April Fool's Day :Roflmao:

As for any company, I'll turn down the offer. For me Mr.b you need to see bmf for long term. You will just laugh, years from now on that offer :)
I believe in this forum. I know you do.

Forgot to update this topic, meanwhile, I got another interested buyer, he used to own a big forum and sold it for $1,000,000 and now I think he was looking to buy other forums, he said he could pay me in Bitcoin if I want to. Because I was not looking to sell the forum I did not even reply to him.

BMF is my life, this is my retirement option, ain't gonna sell it, that would be stupid.

yeah when someone create something with it own hands the thing is different and i am happy to join here it is great forum for crypto review for me :Cigar::Cigar::Cigar:
