For more than 2 years I host my websites on GoDaddy servers, I use a lot of space, more than 30GB and a lot of bandwidth, website online and working pretty good so far, I didn't had any issues, I pay on a monthly basis for 2 shared deluxe accounts. I'm satisfied, I recommend GoDaddy hosting for you, when you have high traffic, around 7k-10k visitors daily you may consider moving to VPS or Dedicated servers.

In the past, I had shared cPanel web hosting over at GoDaddy and I was very satisfied, I guess those sites were not that popular so they weren't using full resources to cause downtime or problems...

I don't have experience with HostGator at all, anyone here HostGator customer? share your experience!

Please do a research on EIG hosting. You'll understand that hostgator and bluehost both are owned by same company. And both are shared host on single datacenter. And not only that their service is extremely poor. For example, google for "EIG hosting problems". And you'll find a lot of issues for the hosting. I have tried three hosting from same company under different hosting brands - Arvixe, Hostgator and Bluehost.

I suggest going for hosting such as liquidweb, softlayer, linode, hawkhost, kinsta etc. Godaddy is not bad either. But stay away from EIG hosting if you don't want headaches.

I've had a horrid experience with Bluehost, and apparently others have too. Just Google "Bluehost sucks".

The only reason some prominent folks recommend them is that they make a TON of money on affiliate sales. Shame on them!!

From reviews I think Godaddy is the best and the giant amongst web hosting company. it quite reliable and their bandwidth is great without downtime or server being up and down sometimes
Though it still good to try other cheaper ones but Godaddy is stress free.

I think bluehost has the throttled shared hosting CPUs. And lot of complaints are coming to them. And it seems like really hard to work around with that company. Some good reviews are there. But I am hearing most of the issues lately for high traffic sites.

For a few websites I built and sold I used BlueHost. I liked the company. Their cPanel is nice and easy to use. I also like the idea you can use WP on the site too. I used both their cPanel and website building program and used it with WP. I found out that it didn't really make much of a difference which one I used. They were basically the same.

Yeah, they're probably okay if you're just building a website to flip, and you don't care if it has problems six months later. (By the way ..... I don't mean that to be harsh, or to imply you're cheating people. From a BUSINESS point of view, BlueHost may be a great choice for building a website to flip.)

Did any of the folks you sold websites to later complain about BlueHost?

There was only one person who didn't like the service because it really raised its prices. That was one reason I stopped using them. I would rather now find a good hosting company that allows me to install WP on it and build it that way. This is a lot less work and not as time consuming as BlueHost was. I see now that you can actually use WP on the site. Before, you needed to use their website builder. After you got used to the interface it was actually really nice to use and I liked it a lot. I didn't have any of the issues that some people have with broken links and things like this. I guess it is because I'd done a lot of website building and knew how to link everything together.

I think that is true of so many hosting companies. I know that the 2 hosting companies I have used (Godaddy and GreenGeeks) both have lots of good, and lots of bad reviews. But I have never had much problem with either one.

I wonder if a lot of the bad reviews come from people who just don't know what they are doing.....
