According to Nairametrics tweets , information made available shows that as bitcoin approaches $11,000 benchmark the thieves moved 3503 BTC which has dollar equivalent of $38.5 million in less than 24 hours .

The transaction is said to occurs 7 times with highest bitcoin moved once to be 476.32 and the lowest to be approximately 2.61 bitcoin.

This is not a good one for bitcoin and it security.

I read online today that bitcoin robber also stole either $7 million or $70 million worth of bitcoin within few hours earlier today by my time. I hope they are tracked down.

This is a slap on the face of the bitcoin security system with the level of trust people have developed on them..this shows that bitcoin asset can not be trusted

Did you think it is easy to keep up security measures intact online when there are lots of sophisticated hackers to hack into different exchange platform. The best is encourage them

I guess hackers are never tired of stealing bitcoin and withdrawing it I think it might be from an exchange site that was hacked and I hope things should be put in order

Yes the coins were stolen from bitfinex base on the posters write up, the hackers keep trying on daily basis and the exchange sites keep spending money on security.

This is a big issue because the more they improve their security the more hackers trys to hack the site ,if only they could store it in the cloud or somewhere the hackers can't trace

so much that even youtube ad is flooded with fake bitcoin give away.If nothing is done it's gonna raise a huge question in the blockchain technology
Its the advertisers that post those ads on the app and this have nothing to do with the hackers involving in youtube ads and others ,its like YouTube has ban them

they will be caught sooner or later, remember that robbers are greedy, and who stole once, will steal again for sure and will be caught and punished, it's just a matter of time

So many sites have so low security plus scamming has increased so much that even youtube ad is flooded with fake bitcoin give away.If nothing is done it's gonna raise a huge question in the blockchain technology
I guess YouTube is also promoting this scam activities in a way because they are supposed to scrutinized the ads before flying them on the platform.

I think we shouldn't be surprised by this huge move of bitcoin . These are whales / fraudster that have large amount of bitcoin before the price rise . with the price rise , now is the best time to exchange the coins to real cash

This is signal to blochchain to step up the security measures they put in place when it comes to bitcoin transaction in order to safeguard against such fraud in the future

A friend told me the best way to avoid things like this is to store your bitcoins offline but how true is it?
There are hardware or cold storage wallet for storing coins offline so they are not easy to hack like the online wallet. Nano wallet is an example of hard ware wallet.

i believe he meant that you shouldn't hold it if you can't carry the loss, you better sell it for something that's handy for example paypal or payeer or even real life cash

Remember there are offline Bitcoin wallets like Trezor, Nano wallet, Exodus wallet and paper wallet not really PayPal or skrill as you said.

The rise in bitcoin will foster more theft considering how valuable it has become. I hope there is a way to curb these fraudulent practices since security is to be considered in bitcoin investments.

I hope the Russian transparent blockchain project will be able to curb this criminal activities as they wish to track all bitcoin transactions.

How did this happen? There was a also a similar bitcoin theft in twitter some weeks ago. Was the bitcoin wallets hacked? Does this mean that bitcoin isn't secured anymore? Bitcoin may be approaching its doom. Can bitcoin wallets or the blockchain be hacked?

I hope the Russian transparent blockchain project will be able to curb this criminal activities as they wish to track all bitcoin transactions.
I really hope the project is able to do so. Along with the Russian block chain project, I hope other means could also be found by all stakeholders.
