During the course of this weekend, the Bitcoin.org site suffered a DDoS attack. The website is known to contain the code behind bitcoin, which can prove to be invaluable in the crypto world. Therefore it is essential that this code remain safe. Fortunately this did not affect the bitcoin price, as we have seen the bitcoin price continue to rise and prosper despite this attack. Bitcoin.org is now back up and running, but it was stated that during the price hikes that bitcoin experiences, DDoS attacks such as this one are quite common. While the IP of the hacker is based in Russia, with the use of VPNs and other means to hide your ip address it is very difficult to be assured of where this attack has come from.

What does ddos mean in full and to what extent did the attack affect the website database and servers and what do you think was the target or intention of the hacker. If the bitcoin code is stolen can it lead to an imitation of bitcoin and what are the implications of the code being stolen

Bitcoin.org is always on the attention of hackers, they've attacked them severally, they should be vigilant at all cost to stop any attack on their website to prevent tension rising cos of this influx of attacks coming to them.

It's not quite surprising that top sites are being the target of hacks being that they are big and that they get the attention of the hackers and that hackers can get alot from them if they are successful

They have to really upgrade their security ,so the hackers won't try another time ,and I am happy Bitcoin itself was not affected , because there would have been a very big issue and question towards the existence of bitcoin
