A report published by Electric Coin Company which is behind Zcash informed that bitcoin is the most used crypto by criminals on the dark web. This is mainly because bitcoin transactions cannot be tracked by authorities which makes it ideal for criminals to do whatever they want. All the illicit products on the dark web are sold on Bitcoin, Monero, Ether, and very few on Zcash.

Yeah that maybe the disadvantage of cryptocurrencies. That is why it is recommended to use Bitcoin mixer site to get pure coins. And I hope Bitcoin Ponzi decreases in future as newbies become more aware

If all Bitcoin addresses generated by a Bitcoin wallet can be tracked or traced to the wallet ID then KYC measures should be able to curb this menace.

Well because of the untraceable transactions feature and decentralized process feature of the bitcoin it's not tht surprising but surely bitcoin have more postive than negative

When once I saw the title I knew the msin reason for this will be because crypto transactions can't be traced. I think with this people just need to be careful with transactions involving Bitcoin payment

I still believe this Bitcoin and other altcoins be closely monitored and the level of anonymousity should be limited such that some transactions suspected to be illegal can be halt.

Well, that can only be when it regulated which it isn't for now,so stopping irregularities will be a bit difficult at this stage. The best now is to protect self from dubious people.

I guess it can be stopped now, coinbase did it , I remember a member who said he lost his bitcoin to coinbase cos of the nature of the business he did. If coinbase can other wallet companies should emulate.

Oh really that sounds good, never heard about it,then what are other wallets waiting for. They should emulate and close good amount of avenue to Fraud

Probably they want more subscribers so they don't want to discourage them, personally if there security, crypto currencies has higher potential to take the lead but if illegal transactions persist it may be disastrous and global ban.
