The CEO of social capital, Chamath Palihapitiya in his recent appearance on Alpha conference said that bitcoin has effectively replaced" gold, noting that Bitcoin's market cap will continue growing and gaining more grounds. He onced predicted Bitcoin to hit $200,000, also mentioned that crypto could become "very big" and urges his audience to all pay close attention to the market as he concludes.

Am pretty sure that as the value and market cap of bitcoin keeps increasing , it continues to give traders more reason on why they should invest in the coin rather than gold

Absolutely because even people that are skeptical about cryptocurrencies the moment they see bigger and reputable companies adopting it thwy will be motivated.

With the enhancement of crypto currency I'm pretty sure traders would keep close watch because in due time i think I will have to agree with no second thought that Bitcoin has indeed replaced gold.

Yeah the motivation to hold cryptocurrency for long would come , instead of them selling so fast ,as cryptocurrency investment rate have been increasing for a while now due to countries adopting the use

It can never ever replace gold in any scenario and the reason is that you need to have a ffiat / gold backing and r stable reserves of a country

You may be right I don't think cryptocurrency your bitcoin will replace gold though it might out shine it. Everything has it time so both gold and cryptocurrency Investors will make money if they are patient.

The value maybe and the demand is maybe higher too. But physical gold is something people do wear it has a use other than in trades and assets.

I totally agree with your ideology. As I used to say it can't replace gold and that's the fact. Crypto currency is just a path in investment that is outstanding but gold is still in it's right place when it concerns investment

There are so many reasons why people are choosing to invest in Bitcoin rather than gold. And it will continue being this way for a long time that it becomes the number one asset and not gold anymore.

i think many people have invested in both, gold & btc & other cryptos, to diversify their portfolios. many people always forget about silver, the poor mans gold. its like they say eth is the poor mans btc. i myself, prefer silver. i pick up silver when ever or where ever i can. i will even pick up old silver spoons, knives, forks or any thing thing that contains silver, from markets, yard sales, etc. silver & gold are used in most of the electronics we use, so its not just for investment purposes.

Many older people and traditional investors still prefer gold than the volatile crypto. Both gold and crypto can co-exist together instead of one replacing the other.

When you check the head 2 head between BTC and Gold during the time Gold was on the level of BTC you'll see that BTC made more progress.
Very true ,even if gold have been existing for long ,I could say in current time that Bitcoin development have been an absolutely improvement and have progressed pass gold

Yeah, the statistics have shown that. If you check the marketcap of BTC in just it's 12 years of existence you'll come to agree more that in the next 20 years it will usurp Gold as the asset with the highest marketcap. Especially if things continue to move on a blue moon for the digital coin.
