I think believe sharing it on social media is still the best though it depends on which you desire to use,whether paid or free ad on these pages. Where else will you get more web traffic that taking the links to where people are really are.

First of all, good content is the foremost and one can say "Content is King". As for the rest, as per my own experience, sharing and connecting through facebook, twitter, Instagram works, but then one also perhaps needs some paid programs.
I am now trying to get some funds and then go for a paid program.

Sharing videos with people who know works well but from what i have experienced, you cannot force any stranger to watch your videos. People usually ignore YouTube video's links.

It depends a lot on a person's interest. If a video has a broad based theme or a niche that a person finds interesting, he or she would watch it. Else it is likely to be ignored.

probably nobody said this before, but forums help a lot, i personally gave my channel a boost using gaming forums that are related to my content, and i can tell you that they are hella useful

What I meant was that if your followers like the content you post,then only they will share it further with their known ones and then your channel will grow!

If you product great content and quality ones it will market itself.Youtube is also the best marketing platform itself. When you produce quality videos and consistently deliver your fun's it will definitely appear on the searches on related topics.I know of someone who never shared any of his videos but he consistently produced quality ones and he now have a lot of subscribers.

Yes,but it takes so much time even if your video has great content,unless you advertise it a little or do a paid promotion for your channel!

Blogs and youtube videos kinda support each others, i have seen many youtubers putting download links in their blogs instead of the description box so they get traffic on their blogs too

Twitter and Facebook and facebook groups work well. FB groups can be useful but one needs to see which are genuine ones and who respond in a genuine manner and who do not.

I have been using social media networks for some time and I do not think they have any policy that is against sharing of your YouTube videos. Using of Facebook and Instagram and Twitter is a very good way to start to because they have a very high amount of social media users that are active.
