Due to the pandemic , I am currently learning programming on my own using solo learn app.
After each lesson , I am required to practice what I learnt with the inbuilt text editor . this text editor requires internet .
I need a text editor or notepad I can use for offline coding .
Am open for suggestions .

notepad++ or you better use codeblocks.org, it has a lot of features and also has an inbuilt compiler, so you dont have to download another one

For coding, apart from text editor you will still need a compiler to run your programs for most languages. If it is web programming, then the web browser becomes your compiler.
I think if you try coding on an IDE,it is more helpful for creating non trivial programs as they have an integrated compiler, content assist, real time syntax checking, highlighting different keywords with different color codes etc.

It depends on the programming language you are learning. If it is a language such as Java, C,C++ , these languages require the use of compilers. Since you are learning via an app, the app already connects to an online compiler for the language. If you are learning web programming, there are so many editors you can use. I recommend Visual studio code. Sublime text is another good text editor you can use.

there are some dependencies for the language you are learning - in earlier days I was often using sublime or the before recommended notepad++

Nowadays since I am pushing my code directly to a repository from github, i prefer to use Visual Studio Code. The great thing at VS Code is there are free addons from big corps like Microsoft, Amazon or RedHat but also many small contributors to the ecosystem.

I think Sublime is better for languages like python or html because VS Code take too long time to launch and isn't easy to use as Sublime (it's just my opinion)

There are virtually so many that you can be able to use and it is dependent on your system requirement and which one you literally feel comfortable with. I started with the notepad++ and it was a very good experience. I have gradually shifted to visual studio code and I believe that it is very good especially when you are a advanced programmer.
