[BMF]

In my opinion best premium forum script is Xenforo, it has a strong community of developers, great themes, great addons, reasonable price. I hate the fact that copyright footer removal is $250. That's all! I have 2 licenses for XENFORO

What your favorite forum script? What's your opinion on FREE or PAID?

I am using MYBB currently, but not satisfied with their plugins and still it is one of my favorite forum software. I thought long back to migrate into Xenforo, but for money sake I sticked with this one.
Ive had Vbulletin 3.7 license and still looks bad for me as the license got expired for upgrading.
How about you all and what forum software is good for you, please don't say blindly just about your experience.

I also love to work with XenForo, I like the way how a profile is displayed. And also like Mr. B describes there are some awesome themes for XenForo.

When I worked as a Tech VA, I mostly installed IPB and VBforum for most of the clients. I see still those two are good enough on many grounds. As for the free forums software I'd say there are plenty of good ones like - SMF, Fluxbb, Mybb, phpbb and Vanilla. There are few others too but These five free ones are the most popular in free community. I have seen xenforo but for some reason I find it's default design not that good. IPB by default theme is more than enough to immediate use same with VB. But Xenforo's default theme looks ugly so theme investment is necessary.

Vbulletin was top in those days, but now Xenforo as it is the best software designed for latest models. Vbulletin was good upto 3.7 version from their on wards it went back.

My favourite forum script is phpBB. Though, I have never used or experienced XenForo as a forum owner. I have used it on other people's forums. I have always liked phpBB and I decided to use this forum software for my last forum.

For me best paid forum on looks is IPS 4.2 but on security I like XenForo and for free mybb is good
And I m currently using IPS cuz I love it

I am not using Xenforo as an admin but I like it for many features likes credit and unique theme. Yes, the paid software will definitely give you more options to do all your need easily.

For free I am using MyBB forum not fully satisfied but yes I like. There is always option and developers where you can pay to create your own desired theme.
Another free forum is wordpress for me.

Lately I have been looking at xenforo or vbulletin. Honestly, juries out right now on it

I worked for a client who is into the IPB. I would say things are lot better even without themes and the changes. I think in some of the cases free forum software may be good. but IPB pretty much beats in terms of the forum features.

Meanwhile still with Xenforo, I managed to upgrade and enjoy XF2 version. The add-ons available have some bugs but the developers try to solve them quickly.

most sites goes for phpBB since it Free and one can easily customize it to suit them,same with MyBB which is easy to install and use but for now xenforo is more popular and used it really modern with very sleek and modern features. easy to install and use as well.

Xenforo might be beautiful and have some good features, but it also include something that made it blocked. I am not able to open BMF in workplace where all other software forums are working fine, and only faucet type sites are blocked; BMF is the only blocked forum site, so I am using mobile in workplace to keep active.
