ALERT: These scams happen all over the world!

HOW THE LATEST SCAM WORKS?

1. You get an SMS with embedded link (bit.ly)
2. The message will trick you into clicking on the link, maybe to win something,
inherit something or applying for something. These guys will make it look believable
and this how they catch you!
3. If you click on the link, it will take you to a fake website asking for your bank details.
(password and ID number)
4. Then you fill in your login details and the fraudster uses your details to make
unauthorised transactions.

Please be careful, they come in all shapes and forms!

Oh! Good information from you. I really appreciate it. I personally don't even give out my bank account details online except I'm directed if I go to the bank itself.

Thanks for creating the awareness. Hopefully this goes viral and help prevent people from falling victim.

This happens in my country too and many people have falling prey too, it is better to abstain from giving out your bank details online so that your bank account wouldn't be hacked

Thanks for sharing . Most times it is people that are very greed and uninformed that end up falling to this type of scam . People should know that bank won't ask you for personal details

No problem, this is still a scary factor and it will not end. It is best to be safe vigilant!

Agree, many people will fall for this scam because it's happening all over the world now. Best not to share bank details!

This is why. Im always careful of links online. I hardly even clicks on links even the ones sent to my mail box I don't click on them. We need to be very careful of this

@KevinHVG Thanks for the heads-up. We need to be alert nowadays.

It's quiet a concern how we do transactions online???
No problem...we should stand and stick together against these scammers. If any new schemes of scammers pop up, then we should share them with each other on forums like this.
