❕NEWS Apple removed chargers from all of their iPhone package

As reported by various news outlets, Apple, the American-based phone and PC giant has decided to remove all chargers from their new iPhones packages. The company claim they have done so in order to reduce waste products from their company. A lot of people are understandably getting imitated by this, since now they have to buy those chargers separately, adding to the overall cost. Some critics even say that this move is not for the sake of environment - it's just for the sake of extra profit generated by charger sales.

It's stuff like this that makes me question why people still flock to Apple, the answer?

Brand Loyalty. People are extremely loyal to Apple for the perceived value that they get. They think that they are getting a better deal because that's what Apple shows them, and stunts like this won't really hurt them all that much, maybe hurt the ones that were already going to switch over to Android anyway. Otherwise, their brand is probably going to be fine.

I think that they just want to create another way of generating money for their selves. Because if they removed charger for pack there's no how you will buy phone without using charger to charge it, so, you definitely buy charger with your money.

It seems that's the whole idea making extra money off the buyers or users of their phone. And because of loyalty, buyers might obviously be blind to this exploitation

but why, i think a consumer have the right to be given a charger after payment for the product. this i cant believe for now .though i will look forward to know how true its id
This is also happening to people who buy Samsung phones too, so if you get an Apple phone or a Samsung phone, most likely you won't get a charger. I get it with the Samsung phones because it uses USB-C, an extremely common charger, but Lightning Cord chargers are exclusive to Apple phones and tablets. :(

Yeah its true but i don't like such thing because people could actually buy fake chargers from those retailers , so it not a good thing to think of

I think the separate charger is more for the benefit of the users. However, if the charger is exclusive to Apple then that is clearly another way of added revenue. My Samsung has a charger but it can be charged using a universal charger which is convenient for me.

Apple is adopting a profit oriented strategy. Buying chargers after purchasing that iPhone products either laptop or cell phone is a way to make extra profit.

This is becoming really insane at the moment and I believe that in the future there will be phones that will be coming even without a box. I understand that they are trying to incorporate climate change but then there are a lot of ways in which they can make their customers comfortable while still reducing carbon emissions.

You see, since it is more than a duty for each individual to safeguard the environment, in this regard it has been calculated that the first of the three main actions to be taken is precisely:
- recycle as much as possible (with an importance of 59%)
They follow :
2) Buy energy from renewable sources (49%)
3) replace a typical car with an electric or hybrid vehicle (41%).

Although in my opinion, not putting the chargers in the iPhone package was done primarily for their economic reasons.

In a business standpoint this is really a plus in the marketing profit side of apple and the waste management thing might just be a cover up as i think there are other ways that can reduce waste other than just removing the charger from new iphone boxes. They can innovate for such a thing that will make their costumers satisfied rather than making them irritated at the decisions they've done

This might be a test run strategy to see if such decisions affect their market because personally I didn't see you remove of charges as means of curbing wastage. I am sure that you know six months they are going to do their market analysis to see if the decision is favorable or not
The only way people can stand in defence of this is not to patronize their product for a very long time.

You know my friend, on this I agree with you. In fact, I think it is useless to think of a recycle of a cell phone charger, when after, for the grocery shopping in a family, about two garbage bags a day full of plastic for the food packaging products, are thrown away!!

Yeah, the food industry i think produces more plastic waste than they do, they can atleast probably could've made it just an option to buy iphone without charger for cases like a person only broke his iphone so his iphone is broken but his charger is still broken so to save money he would buy an iphone without a charger , atleast in that sense it is more sensible to buy iphone without a charger and it is just an option not like this where it is not an option

I don't see how selling charger separately helps prevent waste in the company cause they still have to produce the chargers for sale, neither does it help keep the environment safe in any way. This is just a pure way they can make more more from customers. Is the phone not expensive enough? And am pretty sure the charger would not be sold for a cheap price as well

Indeed. We can imagine that someone sells his used IPhone to buy a later model. Then I suppose he surely gives also the battery charger to who buys. And so he in turn has to buy it again!
Yes, in this context I think it's a matter exclusively for business!

That's also another possibility if a person wants a new iphone so he solds his old one and mostly when a person sells their phone it is only the phone, though in my previous example I kinda stated that the person broke their own iphone so they want to buy a new one but their old charger is still working so they might opt to buy a new phone without the charger as they can still use their old charger

thats what i was thinking. doesnt the old charger fit the new socket ?¿? or arent there adapters so that you can use the old charger with the new phone ?¿? maybe there is a market for adapters for phone chargers. dont all phones run on 12 - 24 volts anyway ?¿?¿

many times big companies spend money on advertising to make themselves look good. but in reality its all a publicity stunt. apple wants to make money off selling more chargers, simple as that.

someone also mentioned the packaging. how much card board, plastic, energy, etc. is used in making those pretty & attractive boxes ?¿?¿ sell the stupid things in a plain paper bag, it will sell the same.

This action of removing a charger of the iPhone phones will be of disadvantage to the consumers. This is because they have to spend extra money to buy the chargers and they may even fall a victim of buying fake chargers.

Majority of the time old chargers still works on newer iphone models, unless they change the USB type of the newer Iphone models then that's a different topic, well yeah big companies usually do it like these so that they can rake more bucks from people, and true they could've just make an environmental friendly box a disposable one that they can store the charger in, their line of reasoning just doesn't make any sense imo

I agree, but after all, those who buy an IPhohe for the first time are forced to buy the relative charger separately. Consequently, already spend more initially.
You see, I personally (and not just me), inherently to cell phones, always buy new when I can, I don't trust enough to buying used, which however are always dated in their hardware.
